"Oh How The Time Does Fly"

From the age of nine you cared for me
You took me by the hand.
You taught me how to live my life
And prayed I'd understand

You pressed your hand upon my butt
When things I did were wrong
You praise me when I did it right
You helped me get along

I've often wondered where I'd be
If you hadn't seen me through
You guided me and strengthened me
You taught me what to do

I wasn't like the other kids
Who lived with Moms and Dads
I grew up with the man alone
I'm Proud to call My Dad

Most men back then, would turn and run
To bring up the likes of me
But with you Dad my life had just begun
With you I was set free

If I haven't told you in a while
I want for you to know
I'm glad the way things came and went
I'm glad that you loved me so

I'm glad I grew up under your roof
I'm proud that you raised me
I hope you know from the bottom of my heart
There was no other place I'd rather be

I Love You Dad

Author: D. A. Gobin

Just to give you an idea of how my Father supported me.
I want you to read something he gave me one time when he believed
in me more then I believed in myself. He wrote this to me
when I was quite unsure of my ablities.
He is not the Author of it, but that matters little to me.
It was enough just to have had him write it down
and send it to me. It went something like this:

He who knows not and knows he knows not;
He is a child; Teach Him

He who knows not and knows not he knows not,
He is a Fool; Shun Him

He who knows and knows not He knows,
He is asleep: Wake Him

He who knows and knows He knows,
He is Wise: Follow Him
