THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE

I have created this site with the intentions of showing you how exhilarating AND exasperating it can be to have your home built from the ground up. It can be a stressful time and it can be one of the happiest times of your life, watching your dreams materialize. Also throughout the site I have included some salty, sage advice along the way, that we learned the HARD way!

How We Found The Builder

We found the builder by looking at model homes. We were impressed with the home, but it was out of our price range. A saleswoman happened to overhear our discussion, and she steered us to the location of where the builder was just getting ready to break ground in a new developement. We were ecstatic, because that meant we would have choices of the prime lots!

SHEER EXCITEMENT

My husband went out to the site the very next day after work, and he was so excited, that he called me from a pay phone on his way home!

He said, "This is it! It's what we've been looking for, and the price is right!"

I got so excited listening to him, that I could not wait to race out there that day to see for myself! Even though after I finished work, there would be only one half hour of daylight left to see the lots! I did not care. You have to understand... my husband is not easily excitable, so, to hear and see him behave like that was just mind boggling and unbelievable!

I Never Promised You a Rose Garden...

Later on that week, we met with the saleslady *Ally, to find out information about the site and the builder. To say the least, she did a very good job on selling the builder to us. She said that they were a small builder formed by two brothers and that they were a young company with an excellent track record. She also stated that the parents were actively involved to make sure everything was just right for the customer. Oh, they are a family oriented company, that bends over backwards to make sure you are pleased with your home. And guess what?! They are staunch, devout, Bible thumpin'

Christians!

OOPS! IT MUST HAVE BEEN A MIRAGE!

Well, glory be! We thought we had stumbled upon the gem of a lifetime. Everywhere we went, everyone knew of them, and stated what "what fine, young men they were". Being Christians ourselves, we NÄIVELY thought we could really trust and believe in these upstanding, fine, young fellows. Well, call us stupid, gullible, morons, green as grass, or whatever you'd like, 'cause we believed the HYPE! As Judge Judy says," Look at my forehead! Do you see stupid written here?!" In our case, YEP! More on that to come...
