Found web site great. We have a lab/cross age 7, rescue dog named Kane. Into everything including getting his head stuck in the cats baskets. He's full of fun & goes everywhere with us, apart from work but my dad looks-after him during the day and spoils him terribly -(his 6 stone baby). Strange how they love to sit on mum's lap, squashing you into the chair.

GREAT SITE, HAVE BLACK LAB X RESCUE DOG OURSELVES VERY CLEVER & INTO EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE CAT BASKETS, GOT HIS HEAD STUCK IN ONE ONCE. HE IS OUR FIRST DOG BUT IT WAS THE BEST THING WE HAVE EVER DONE TAKING HIM HOME FROM THE RESCUE CENTRE. THOSE BIG BROWN EYES ALWAYS LOOKING FOR FOOD.

I read your story about Penny and literally tears came to my eyes. It was so touching. My fiance and I have a 20 mos Black Lab whom we got from a breeder and he is our baby and everyone loves him. He is very good w/kids, other dogs and friends who care for him when we are away say he's great. We want to get another dog but are wondering if we should adopt this time. Your story really opened my eyes and maybe my fiance will re-consider. He seems to think that getting a puppy from the start is alot eas er than one that has been exposed to another environment and been trained in a certain way. Maybe so, but your story really got to me. We live North of Boston so maybe we will visit the place that you got Penny from. Thanks for sharing.

Your dogs are beautiful. I have a nine year old yellow lab named "Casey". I found him roaming the streets starving about 2 years and took him in. What's one more mouth to feed when you already have one dog, a cocker spaniel (Niki) and 6 rescued cats. I love to talk to animal lovers like myself because they give me faith in the human race. Casey is probably the most loveable animal I have ever encountered. He is so eager to please and soooooo mellow. He's just a doll.

Gail, I loved your site and stories of your babies. Thank you for adopting Penny and giving her a chance at a longer life. I too adopted an older lab (I just got Charlie on New Years Eve, and he is 7) and have two three year old yellows (Luke & Jake). y Jake loves to sit on my lap too. I keep telling him he's a LAB dog not a LAP dog (doesn't seem to hear me though lol). May your babies have many more years together!
