" THANKS TO GOD "

I'd like to be that Someone that you have been to me,
for I know I would be oh so Proud, if I could only be.
I know I can't stop your Heart from aching,
or take your Pain's away, but I'd like to try to Help you,
each minute of the day. To me you are so Special,
you know just how I feel, and it makes me so Happy just
to know that this is real. It seems like you are always with me
at the start of each new day and you're the first thing on my mind
each time I start to Pray. So take this story in your Heart
and know that it is True, for one day,
" Thanks To GOD ", I'll be seeing You !!

" LOVE "

If Grief Has Caused An Empty Place
Let Love Come In To Fill The Space.
Tragedy Brings You Hurt And Pain,
But Love Can Help You Live Again.

An Unkind Word May Cause A Fight,
Let Love Come In And Make It Right.
You Disagree And Lose A Friend,
But Love Can Help You Make Amend.

A Sleeping Child Screams Out In Fright,
A Loving Hug Will Calm The Night.
Don't Go Through Life And Fail To See,
That Love Can Change Your Destiny

" GOD KNOWS "
When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts... God knows
how hard you have tried. When you've cried so long and your heart is in
anguish... God has counted your tears. If you feel that your life is on
hold and time has passed you by... God is waiting with you. When you're
lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call... God is by
your side. When you think you've tried everything and don't know where
to turn... God has a solution. When nothing makes sense and you are
confused or frustrated... God has the answer. If suddenly your outlook
is brighter and you find traces of hope... God has whispered to you.
When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for... God
has blessed you. When something joyful happens and you are filled with
awe... God has smiled upon you. When you have a purpose to fulfill and a
dream to follow....... God has opened your eyes and called you by
name. Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are
facing..... GOD KNOWS

" The Religious Lady On The Plane "

There was a religious lady that had to do a lot of traveling for her
business, so naturally she did a lot of flying. Flying made her extremely
nervous, so she always took her Bible along with her to read since it
helped relax her on the long flights.

One time, she was sitting next to a man. When he saw her pull out her
Bible, he gave a little chuckle, smirked and went back to what he was
doing. After a while, he turned to her and asked, "You don't really
believe all that stuff in there do you?" The lady replied, "Of course I
do. It is the Bible."

He said, "Well, what about the guy that was swallowed by the whale?" She
replied, "Oh, Jonah. Yes, I believe that, it is in the Bible." He asked,
"Well, how do you suppose he survived all that time inside the whale?"
The lady said, "Well, I don't really know. I guess when I get to Heaven,
I will ask him."

"What if he isn't in heaven?" the man asked sarcastically.
"Then you can ask him," replied the lady.

"THE LORD'S BASEBALL GAME"

Bob and the Lord stood by to observe a baseball game, the Lord's team was
playing Satan's team. The Lord's team was at bat, the score was tied zero
to zero, and it was the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs.

They continued to watch as a batter stepped up to the plate whose name
was Love. Love swung at the first pitch and hit a single, because Love
never fails. The next batter was named Faith, who also got a single
because Faith works with Love. The next batter up was named Godly wisdom.
Satan wound up and threw the first pitch. Godly Wisdom looked it over
and let it pass: Ball one. Three more pitches and Godly Wisdom walked,
because Godly wisdom never swings at what Satan throws.

The bases were loaded, the Lord then turned to Bob and told him He was
now going to bring in His star player.Up to the plate stepped Grace. Bob
said "He sure doesn't look like much!" Satan's whole team relaxed when
they saw Grace.Thinking he had won the game, Satan wound up and fired
his first pitch. To the shock of everyone, Grace hit the ball harder
than anyone had ever seen.

But Satan was not worried; his center fielder let very few get by. He went
up for the ball, but it went right through his glove, hit him on the head
and sent him crashing on the ground; then it continued over the fence for
a home run! THE LORD'S TEAM WON !!!

The Lord then asked Bob if he knew why Love, Faith, and Godly Wisdom
could get on base but could not win the game. Bob answered that he did
not know why. The Lord explained, "If your Love, Faith and Wisdom had won
the game you would think you had done it by yourself. Love, faith and
wisdom will get you on base, but only My Grace can get you home. My
Grace is the one thing Satan cannot steal.

" Love Is Never Silent "

A Loving Heart, a Gentle Smile, a Warm and Tender Touch, we give so many
things in Life, but nothing means as Much. A little Inspiration when some
one loses Hope, a kind word of Encouragement when they no longer seem to
Cope. A simple phrase, "I Love You" when no one else is there, taking hold
onto a Hand in a little Heartfelt Prayer. Love is Never Silent, it has so
much to say, And it is Our Greatest Blessing When We Give It All Away.

 DO YOU LOVE JESUS
" THE POEM "

I knelt to Pray but not for long, I had too much to do. I had to hurry
and get to work for bills would soon be due. So I knelt and said a
hurried Prayer and jumped up off my knees, My Christian duty was now done
and My Soul could Rest at Ease.

All day long I had no time to Spread a Word of Cheer. No time to speak of
Christ to Friends, They'd laugh at me I'd fear. No time, No time, too
much to do, that was my Constant Cry, No time to give to Souls in need
But at last the time ..... the time to die.

I went before the Lord, I Came, I Stood with Downcast Eyes, For in His
Hands God Held A Book; It was the " Book Of Life " . God looked into His
Book and said, Your Name I Cannot Find. I once was going to write it
down....................But I Never Found The Time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

" The Things We Leave Behind "

Out of this Life I shall never take things of Silver and Gold I make.
All that I Cherish and Hoard away, after I leave, on Earth must Stay.
Though I have Toiled for a Painting Rare, to hang on the wall I must
leave it there and though I call it Mine and Boast its Worth, I must give
it up when I leave this Earth.

All that I Gather and all that I Keep, I must leave Behind when I Fall
Asleep. And I often Wonder what I shall own In that other Life when I
Pass Alone. Shall the Great Judge learn when my Task is through, That my
Spirit had Gathered some Riches too? Or shall at the Last it be Mine to
Find that all I had Worked for, I Left Behind.

" IF JESUS CAME "

Would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in?
Or hide some magazines, and put the Bible where they'd been?
Would you hide your worldly music and put some Hymn Books out?
Could you let Jesus walk right in, or would you rush about?
And I wonder.. if the Savior spent a day or two with you,
Would you go right on doing, the things you always do?
Would you go right on saying, the things you always say?
Would life for you continue as it does from day to day?
Would you take Jesus with you everywhere you go?
Or would you maybe change your plans for just a day or so?
Would you be glad to have Him meet your closest friends?
Or would you hope they stay away until His visit ends?
Would you be glad to have Him stay forever on and on?
Or would you sigh with great relief when He at last was gone?
It might be interesting to know, the things that you would do,
If Jesus came in person, to spend some time with you.

" Think About This Story "

A young man who had been raised as an Atheist was training to be an
Olympic diver. The only Religious influence in his Life came from
his outspoken Christian Friend. The young diver never really paid much
attention to his Friends Sermons, but he heard them often.

One night the diver went to the indoor pool at the college he
attended. The lights were all off, but the pool had Big Skylights and
the Moon was Bright, there was plenty of Light to practice by.The young
man climbed up to the highest diving board and as he turned his back to
the pool on the edge of the board and extended his arms out, he saw his
Shadow on the wall. The Shadow Of His Body In The Shape Of A Cross.

Instead of diving, He Knelt Down And Asked GOD To Come Into His Life and
as the young man stood,a maintenance man walked in and turned the Lights
on,The Pool was Empty and had been Drained for Repairs.

" My Cup Has Overflowed "

I've never made a Fortune and it's probably too late now, but I don't
worry about that much,I'm Happy anyhow. As I go along Life's Journey I'm
reaping better than I sowed, I'm drinking from my saucer Cause My Cup
Has Overflowed.Ain't got a lot of Riches and sometimes the going gets
Rough, but I got a Family that Loves me that makes me Rich enough.I just
Thank GOD for His Blessings and the Mercy He has Bestowed for I'm still
drinking from a saucer,Cause My Cup Has Overflowed.

And I remember times when things went Wrong and my Faith ran a little
thin, but then all at once the dark Clouds broke and the old Sun broke
through again. So LORD help me not to Gripe about the tough rows I have
hoed.I'm drinking from my saucer Cause My Cup Has Overflowed. And if GOD
gives me the Strength and Courage when the way gets Steep and Rough,I
won't ask for other Blessings, I'm already Blessed enough. And may I
never be too busy to help another bear His load, I'll Keep Drinking From
My Saucer Cause My Cup Has Overflowed.

" Reading Of Psalm 23 "

There was once a Shakespearean actor who was known everywhere for his
one-man show of readings and recitations from the classics. He would
always end his performance with a dramatic reading of Psalm 23. Each
night, without exception,as the actor began his recitation "The Lord is
my shepherd,I shall not want",the crowd would listen attentively. And
then, at the conclusion of the Psalm, they would rise in thunderous
applause in appreciation of the actor's incredible ability to bring the
verse to life.

But one night, just before the actor was to offer his customary Psalm 23,
a young man from the audience spoke up. Sir do you mind if tonight I
recite Psalm 23? The actor was quite taken aback by this unusual request
but he allowed the young man to come forward and stand front and center
on the stage to recite the Psalm, knowing that the ability of this
unskilled youth would be no match for his own talent.

With a soft voice, the young man began to recite the words of the Psalm.
When he was finished, there was no applause. There was no standing ovation
as on other nights. All that could be heard was the Sound Of Weeping. The
audience had been so moved by the young man's recitation that every eye
was full of Tears. Moved by what he had heard, the actor said to the
youth,I just don't understand.I have been performing Psalm 23 for years,
I have a lifetime of experience and training but I have never ever been
able to move an audience as you have tonight. Tell me, what is your
secret?

The Young Man Humbly Replied, " Well Sir, you know the Psalm "..........
" But I Know The Shepherd. "

" A PATIENT GOD "

As a little girl of 9 I blamed GOD when he took my Grandmother to be
with Him in Heaven. For the following 55 years I lived my Life the way
I wanted to. I sometimes wondered why things happen the way they did, I
wondered if someone was trying to tell me something. The thoughts didn't
last long. There have been years of depression and I often wondered why I
had to live that way?On occassion I would pray that things would change,
But I didn't pray the right way.

In early 1997 after working until 3:00am I would go home and watch a
little TV to help unwind. There was a Christian TV program that was on 24
hours a day. I would stop there on occassion to see what it was all
about. Soon I found myself watching it more and more.I didn't know why.
In May of 1997 I was watching earlier in the evening on my day off. I
suddenly realized that I was being drawn into what was happening. All of
a sudden on the wall behind the people that were on the program appeared
the face of CHRIST. I suddenly was aware who had been by my side all
those years just waiting.

Three months later I accepted Jesus as my LORD and SAVIOR. My depression
left me and I no longer was asking, ......."Why am I not Happy?".......
I got a computer in Jan. 1999 and Since then I have found Beautiful
Christian Web Sites that BLESS MY SOUL. Through one of those Web Sites I
have found a FOREVER FRIEND who BLESSES my Soul. I realize now that I
didn't ask the right questions when I prayed.I couldn't hear GOD saying
to me ..."Child Give Me Your Troubles And Let Me Handle Them For You"...
Thank You GOD for being Patient with Me. Thank You GOD for Walking with
Me through my Life when I had rejected you so very long ago and also
Thank You GOD for especially leading me to a " FOREVER FRIEND."

" The Right Idea "

I asked GOD to take away my pain,GOD said,-NO-,It is not for me to take
away, but for you to give it up.I asked GOD to make my handicapped child
whole,GOD said,-NO-,Her spirit is whole and her body is only temporary.I
asked GOD to grant me patience,GOD said,-NO-,Patience is a by-product of
tribulations;it isn't granted,it is earned. I asked GOD to give me
happiness,GOD said,-NO-,I give you blessings,Happiness is up to you. I
asked GOD to spare me pain,GOD said,-NO-,Suffering draws you apart from
worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

I asked GOD to make my spirit grow,GOD said,-NO-,You must grow on your
own,but I will prune you to make you fruitful. I asked for all things
that I might enjoy life,GOD said,-No-,I will give you life so that you
may enjoy all things.I ask GOD to help me LOVE others, as much as He
Loves Me and then GOD Said ... Ahhhh,Finally You Have The Right Idea ...

" This Is No Secret "

Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument about who managed to get
the most out of his computer. This had been going on for days, and GOD was
tired of hearing all of the bickering.GOD said,Cool it,I am going to set
up a test that will run two hours and I will judge who does the better
job.So down they sat at the keyboards and typed away, They moused away,
They did spreadsheets,They wrote reports,They sent faxes,They sent out
e-mail,They sent out e-mail with attachments,They downloaded, They did
some genealogy reports,They made cards,They did every known job.

But just a few minutes before the two hours were up, lightning flashed
across the sky.The thunder rolled and the rains came down hard. And of
course the electricity went off.Satan was upset,He fumed and fussed and
he ranted and raved but all to no avail. The electricity stayed off, but
after a bit the rains stopped and the electricity came back on.

Satan screamed, "I lost it all when the power went off." What am I going
to do? What happened to Jesus work? Jesus just sat and smiled. Again
Satan asked about the work that Jesus had done. As Jesus turned his
computer back on,the screen glowed and when he pushed " PRINT ", it was
all there. " How Did Jesus Do That ? " ......... Satan asked .........
GOD SMILED AND SAID, "JESUS SAVES."

 " The Trouble Tree "

The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had just
finished a rough first day on the job.A flat tire made him lose an hour
of work, his electric saw quit, and now his ancient pickup truck refused
to start. While I drove him home,he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he
invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door,he
paused briefly at a small tree, touching tips of the branches with both
hands. When opening the door,he underwent an amazing transformation, His
tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children
and gave his wife a kiss.Afterward he walked me to the car.We passed the
tree and my curiosity got the better of me.

I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier. Oh,that's my trouble
tree,he replied.I know I can't help having troubles on the job,but one
thing's for sure, troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the
children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home
Then in the morning I pick them up again. "Funny thing is," he smiled,
when I come out in the morning to pick'em up,there ain't nearly as many
as I remember hanging up the night before.

" QUALITY OF LIFE "

A man came home from work late again, tired and irritated, to find his
5-year old son waiting for him at the door. Daddy, may I ask you a
question? Yeah, sure, what is it? replied the man. Daddy, how much money
do you make an hour? That's none of your business, What makes you ask
such a thing? I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make
an hour? If you must know,I make $20.00 an hour. Oh, the little boy
replied,head bowed.Looking up,he said,Daddy,may I borrow $10.00 please?

The father was furious. If the only reason you wanted to know how much
money I make is just so you can borrow some to buy a silly toy or some
other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to
bed and Think about why you're being so selfish. I work long, hard hours
everyday and don't have time for such childish games."

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat
down and started to get even madder about the little boy's questioning.
How dare he ask such questions only to get some money. After an hour or
so, the man had calmed down, and started to think he may have been a
little hard on his son.Maybe there was something he really needed to buy
with that $10.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man
went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

"Are you asleep Son?" he asked. "No Daddy, I'm awake," well I've been
thinking, may be I was too hard on you earlier, It's been a long day and
I took my aggravation out on you so Here's that $10.00 you asked for.The
little boy sat straight up, beaming. "Oh, thank you Daddy" he said, then
reaching under his pillow,he pulled out some more crumpled up bills. The
man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The
little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up,His Father said
Why did you want more money if you already had some? Because I didn't
have enough, but now I do, the little boy replied and now I am so happy.
......" Daddy, I Have $20.00 Now, Can I Buy An Hour Of Your Time "......
