" The Child And God "
                                                           
God,Are you Real? The little Child whispered.God,"Speak to me", but the
Child did not hear.Then the Child yelled "God, speak to me", and the
thunder rolled across the sky, but the Child did not listen The Child
looked around and said,"God,let me see You",and a Star shone brightly,
but the Child did not notice.And the Child shouted, "God,show me a
miracle! " And a life was born, but the Child did not know. So the Child
cried out in despair,"Touch me God,and let me know you are here" so then
God reached down and touched the Child,but the Child just brushed the
Butterfly away And walked away unknowingly..........                    

Listen carefully to His voice-He's speaking to you daily in many
different ways-Remember,God's ways are not our ways,and the way that we
think God will speak to us may be entirely different from the way that  
God chooses to speak to us so always be sure and Keep An Open Mind.

" Please Dress Me In Red " 

In my profession, I have worked with children who have the virus that
causes AIDS.The relationships that I have had with these special kids
have been gifts in my life,Let me tell you about the courage of Tyler.

Tyler was born infected with HIV; his mother was also infected.From the
very beginning of his life,he was dependent on medications to enable him
to survive.At times,he also needed supplemental oxygen to support his
breathing but Tyler wasn't willing to give up one single moment of his
childhood to this deadly disease. 

It was not unusual to find him playing and racing around his backyard,
wearing his medicine-laden backpack and dragging his tank of oxygen
behind him in his little wagon. Tyler's pure joy in being alive gave him
energy that caused all of us who knew him to marvel.

Tyler's Mom often teased him by telling him that he moved so fast she
needed to Dress Him In Red.That way, when she peered out the window to
check on him playing in the yard, she could quickly spot him.

This dreaded disease eventually wore down even the likes of a little
dynamo like Tyler. He became quite ill and, unfortunately, so did his
mother. When it became apparent that he wasn't going to survive, Tyler's
Mom talked to him and she comforted him by telling Tyler that she was
dying, too, and that she would be with him soon in Heaven. 

A few days before his death,Tyler beckoned me over to his hospital bed
and whispered " I might die soon,I'm not scared,but when I die, Please
Dress Me In Red,Mom promised she's coming to heaven too and I'll be
playing when she gets there, and I want to make sure she can find me.

" Lunch With God "

There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God.He knew it was a long
trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a
six-pack of root beer, and he started his journey.When he had gone about
3-blocks,he met an old woman.She was sitting in the park just staring at
some pigeons.The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase.He was
about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old
lady looked hungry so he offered her a Twinkie. She gratefully accepted
it and smiled at him, Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see
it again,so he offered her a root beer.Once again,she smiled at him. 

The boy was delighted so They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling
but they never said a word. As it grew dark,the boy realized how tired
he was and he got up to leave but before he had gone more than a few
steps; he turned around,ran back to the old woman,and gave her a hug,and
she gave him her biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later; his
mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face.She asked him, What
did you do today that made you so happy? He replied, I had lunch with
God. But before his mother could respond, he added, You know what? She's
got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen! Meanwhile, the old woman,
also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the
look of peace on her face and he asked, Mother, what did you do today
that made you so happy? She replied,I ate Twinkies in the park with God.
But before her son responded,she added,and You know, he's much younger
than I expected.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,a
listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all
of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our
lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.........Embrace all equally!

" The World Is Mine "

Today upon a bus, I saw a lovely maid with golden hair,I envied her for
she seemed so gay,and I wished I were as fair.When suddenly she arose to
leave,I saw the cruel braces as she hobbled down the aisle; a victim of
polio was she,But as she passed,a smile! Oh,God,forgive me when I whine.
I have two straight feet ........... The World Is Mine!

And then I stopped to buy some sweets.The lad who sold them had such
charm,I talked with him.He said to me,It's nice to talk with folks like
you for You see,he said, "I'm blind."Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes ........... The World Is Mine!

Then walking down the street,I saw a child with eyes of blue. He stood
and watched the others play,It seemed he knew not what to do.I stopped a
moment,then I said, "Why don't you join the others, dear?" He looked
ahead without a word and then I knew.......he could not hear. Oh, God,
forgive me when I whine.I have two ears ........... The World Is Mine!

With Feet to take me where I'd go, with Eyes to see the sunset's glow;
with Ears to hear what I would know, Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I'm blessed indeed ........... The World Is Mine!

" AN ANGEL IN YOUR POCKET "
 
I am a tiny Angel,I'm smaller than your thumb; I live in people pockets,
That's where I have my fun. I don't suppose you've seen me, I'm too tiny
to detect; Though I'm with you all the time, I doubt we've ever met.

Before I was an Angel,I was a fairy in a flower; God,Himself,hand-picked
me And gave me Angel power. Now God has many Angels That He trains in
Angel pools; We become His eyes, and ears, and hands, We become His
special tools.
 
And because God is so busy, With way too much to do; He said that my
assignment Was to keep close watch on you. Then He tucked me in your
pocket, Blessing you with Angel care; Saying I must never leave you,
And I vowed to stay right there!

" PRAYING HANDS "

1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your Prayers by Praying for
those closest to you.They are the easiest to ones to remember.
To pray for our loved ones are, C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet
duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who
teach,instruct and heal.This includes teachers,doctors,and
ministers,they need support and wisdom for pointing others in the
right direction. Keep them in your Prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders.
Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and
administrators. These people shape our nation and also guide
public opinion, They need God's guidance.
 
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact
that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify.It
should remind us to Pray for those who are weak,in trouble or in pain
and They need your Prayers day and night. You cannot Pray too
much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger,the smallest finger of all. Which
is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others.
As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." 
Your pinkie should remind you to Pray for yourself,because by the
time you have Prayed for the other four groups,then your own needs
will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for
yourself more effectively.

" Beautiful Story "

You know,he almost didn't see the old lady,stranded on the side of the
road.But even in the dim light of day,he could see she needed help.So he
pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out.His Pontiac was still
sputtering when he approached her.Even with the smile on his face, she
was worried.No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so, Was he
going to hurt her? He didn't look safe,he looked poor and hungry. He
could see that she was frightened,standing out there in the cold,He knew
how she felt,It was that chill which only fear can put in you.He said,
I'm here to help you ma'am.Why don't you just wait in the car where it's
warm? By the way, my name is Bryan.

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad
enough.Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack,
skinning his knuckles a time or two.Soon he was able to change the tire,
But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt but As he was tightening up
the lug nuts,she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She
told him that she was from St.Louis and was only just passing through.
She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.Bryan just smiled as
he closed her trunk.She asked him how much she owed him.Any amount would
have been all right with her.She had already imagined all of the awful
things that could have happened had he not stopped.

Bryan never thought twice about the money,This was not a job to him,to
him,This was helping someone in need and God knows there were plenty who
had given him a hand in the past...He had lived his whole life that way,
and it never occurred to him to act any other way. He told her that if
she really wanted to pay him back,the next time that she saw someone who
needed help,she could give that person the assistance that they needed,
and Bryan added "...and think of me". He waited until she started her car
and drove off.It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as
he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe.She went in to grab
a bite to eat and then to head home. It was a dingy looking restaurant.
Outside were two old gas pumps,The whole scene was unfamiliar to her.The
cash register was like the telephone of an out of work actor-it didn't
ring much.Her waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her
wet hair.She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the
whole day couldn't erase.The lady noticed that the waitress was nearly
eight months pregnant,but she never let the strain and aches change her
attitude.The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so
giving to a stranger,Then she remembered Bryan.After the lady finished
her meal, and the waitress went to get change for her hundred dollar
bill,the lady slipped right out the door.She was gone by the time the
waitress came back.

She wondered where the lady could be,then she noticed something written
on the napkin under which was 4-$100 bills. There were tears in her eyes
when she read what the lady wrote. It said: You don't owe me anything,I
have been there too.Somebody once helped me out,the way I'm helping you.
If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this
chain of love end with you. Well,there were tables to clear,sugar bowls
to fill,and people to serve,but the waitress made it through yet 
another day.

That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she got to
thinking about the money and what the lady had written.  How could the
lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby
due next month,it was going to be hard.She knew how worried her husband
was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and
whispered soft and low,Everything's gonna be all right;I love you,Bryan.

" LOVE - WEALTH - SUCCESS "

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards
sitting in her front yard,She did not recognize them.She said I don't
think I know you,but you must be hungry... so Please come in and have
something to eat."Is the man of the house home?",they asked.No,He's out,
She said,Then we can't come in,they replied..... In the evening when her
husband came home,she told him what had happen, Go tell them I am home
and invite them in.

The woman went out and invited the men in..... "We don't go into a house
together",they replied......"Why is that"? One of the old men explained:
His name is WEALTH,he said pointing to one of his friends.....and said
pointing to another one, He is SUCESS ,and I am LOVE..... Then he added,
" Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in
your home." The woman went in and told her husband what was said... Her
husband was overjoyed, "How nice", he said! Since that is the case,let
us invite WEALTH.....Let him come and fill our home with WEALTH..... His
wife disagreed..... My dear,why don't we invite SUCCESS ?..... but their
daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house,so She
jumped in with her own suggestion:Would it not be better to invite LOVE.
Our home will be filled with LOVE,so let us heed our daughter-in-law's
advice, said the husband to his  wife.....Go out and invite LOVE to be
our Guest in our Home.....

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, Which one of you is LOVE ? 
Please come in and be our Guest.LOVE got up and started walking toward
the house..The other 2 also got up and followed him... Surprised, the
lady asked WEALTH and SUCCESS:I only invited Love, why are you coming
in? The old men replied together: If you had invited WEALTH or SUCCESS
the other two of us would've stayed out.....but since you invited LOVE,
wherever he goes,we go with him..Wherever there is LOVE,there is also
WEALTH and SUCCESS!!!!!!

" WHEN I SAY I AM A CHRISTIAN "

When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I was lost!" That is why I chose this way.
"When I say..."I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need someone to be my guide.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and pray for strength to carry on.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and cannot ever pay the debt.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are too visible but God believes I'm worth it.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches which is why I seek His name.
When I say..."I am a Christian" I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority. I only know that I am loved.

" FUNNY, ISN'T IT "

Funny how a $20 bill looks so big when you take it to Church, but so
small when you take it to the market.

Funny how long it takes to serve God for an hour, but how quickly a team
plays 60 minutes of basketball.

Funny how long a couple of hours spent at Church are, but how short they
are when watching a movie.

Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we Pray,but don't have
difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.

Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra innings,
but we complain when a Sermon is longer than the regular time.

Funny how hard it is to read a chapter in the Bible, but how easy it is
to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.

Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but
scramble to get a back seat at Church services.

Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a Church event into
our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other events at the last
moment.

Funny how hard it is for people to understand and learn a simple Gospel
well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to
understand and repeat gossip.

Funny how we believe what the newspaper say, but question what the Bible
says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to Heaven provided they do not have to
believe, think, say, or do anything.

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread
like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord,
people think twice about sharing it.
