The damsel

The woman in the picture, wisely showing just half the face, is me, Lavanya. I am 21 years (and a few months) old now, 10 months younger to Sundeep. I am a Cancerian and according to everyone who knows me, a true-blue crab if there ever was one!

Basically, I am a English major graduate and am interested in doing a masters in the field of Communications - either New Media, Broadcast Journalism or Radio-TV. I am in the process of applying to universities in USA and UK right now - let's see....

About me

To quote almost all my friends, I am "100% nuts" - sometimes, it even goes to "fit to be certified" description. I am a total loone at heart and drive everyone I know crazy. I am a perfect klutz to boot - forever tripping over nothing and falling down or banging into things. Sundeep still can't figure out how it is possible for me to be upright one moment and horizontal the next!

I am totally into music and reading. I am forever buying tapes or books - as my taste is real varied, this is a huge buying spree indeed! I listen to all sorts from Pop to disco to rock - from Pink Floyd to Celine Dion to Elton John to Sting to Savage Garden to Sheryl Crow to Boyzone. In the books section, I read those written by the master, P.G.Wodehouse as well as lesser greats - Richard Bach, Dick Francis, John Grisham, Clive Cussler and Robin Cook. (NOT the Brit Foreign Secretary!)

How I met Sundeep

I have been working as a web designer for the past two years. Apparently, Sundeep was also at the same firm, Chennaionline.com, the whole of the time - and I never knew! We were practically under each other's noses all the time but nothing happened - just a random "hi" and "bye" whenever we bumped into each other in the office.

During the Cricket World Cup, I suddenly noticed this cute chap sitting at a terminal in the same row as mine, his face split into one big grin. That was when I actually started talking to him - about cricket and Robbie Williams, of all things. (I later found out he had never listened to Robbie Williams in his entire life and he had just fibbed to strike a conversation!!!)

After that, things went on a fast clip and we became a couple real soon. We hit it off really well right from the first (touchwood!) and became fast friends. Though we both knew deep down what we felt about each other, we sort of danced around the issue till I almost bullied Sundeep into coming out in the open, exactly a week before my 21st birthday!
