Rebecca's Room

So you want to know about me eh? Well what can I tell you.....

I am a 31 year old part time stay at home Mom. I have a few jobs, but basically most of my life revolves around Ashley and her schedule. As you probably have read by now, my daughter was born prematurely. The main goal of this site for me is to offer information and support to other parents who may be going through some of or all of the things we did during the premature birth of our child.

This home page is one of my newest projects,so please bare with me as I try to improve upon it. It has been a lot of fun for me to do this but also a trip down memory lane can be, to say the least, stressful.

My other project has been working on a web site with my partner in a publishing business that we have undertaken. My friend, Annie, and I used to be in a writers group. When the group stopped meeting we both agreed that we missed the recognition that the group gave us. Annie came to me with an idea to start a little magazine for amateur writers. Hence, The Wannabe, a literary magazine for "wannabe" writers. As the idea grew so did my hopes for The Wannabe. My husband and I, fairly new to the internet at the time, thought it would be a great idea to have The Wannabe On Line. So with only some basic knowledge and NO MONEY, we dove in to the project.

When time permits, I will elaborate on this page but for now, feel free to check out some of my favourite links listed below. Thanks for visiting, come back again soon!!

My Favourite Sites

The Wannabe: Did you really think I would not list my own web site as my first favourite...LOL.
check out the site.... there are some good stories written by some good writers from all over the world. You can also stop by our affiliate book store while you are there.

PCOS Support Group:
The NBC news show, Dateline, recently aired an episode with a segment regarding a hormonal disorder called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I believe that I have suffered from this disorder for several years now and am looking into it. Meanwhile, I have found a lot of great information from this site and the people that take part in the discussions in an email based support group. If you have any of the following symptoms, it may be worth checking out this link. {SYMPTOMS INCLUDE: being over weight, problems getting pregnant, excessive facial hair, irregular menstrual cycles.} Please remember that the PCOS Support Group is ran by other women suffering from PCOS and if you believe you have it, you need to contact your Doctor for tests and treatment.

The Oprah Winfrey Show: I have been a fan of Oprah since the beginning. If only we could all model our lives after hers.... what a wonderful world this would be. She has some great insight into life.

The Rosie O'Donnell Show: This woman cracks me up! She is funny, intelligent, witty and just plain cool as far as I am concerned! She does great work for charities and seems like a wonderful woman. Her show started a nation wide Chub Club which I participate in with a few of my "internet friends". We are called The Cyber Chubs.

The Official Sarah McLachlan Web Site: Sarah has recently become one of my favourite singers. I have a wide variety of music that I enjoy listening to but Sarah McLachlan's music touches me in a way no other music does.

The Internet Gaming Zone: This is a great place to play a variety of different on line games. You can play cards or board games with people from all over the world or challenge yourself to a word game.... my personal favourite is cribbage. Any challengers out there.... email me, we'll make a date!
