homepage I am a quadriplegic. I have no use of my fingers or hands. I can move my arms but I do not have the fine motor skills it takes to do typical scrapbook activities such as using scissors, glue, or stickers.
I began scrapbooking in November of 1997 after my best
friend showed me some scrapbooking supplies she had
bought. I rushed right out and bought printed papers,
stickers, fancy edged scissors & templates. I began
scrapping after I got my daughters 1st Halloween pictures
developed. I was instantly hooked! My Mema was a very
crafty lady and she passed her craftiness on to me.
Scrapbooking let my creative side be expressed and the
results were extremely satisfying!
In February of 1999 I purchased my first computer and relief from my frustration began! I quickly started exploring the possibilities of using the computer to scrapbook. I began by doing layouts in Microsoft Greetings Workshop. I scanned photos and imported them into layouts. I added clipart and did my journaling on the computer because I can't write. The results were okay but I still wanted to use all the stickers and papers I had purchased. I began scanning my stickers and papers and experimenting using Adobe Photo Deluxe. I quickly learned I could use cut and paste features to place scanned stickers into my layouts. I imported scanned papers and my layouts began to improve.
I have done alot of pages using Adobe Photo Deluxe and recently began using Draw 6 to create layouts. While my computer generated pages don't look quite as good as my pages done by hand I have gotten much satisfaction from creating them.
