About Sooner Pony Club

The Sooner Pony Club was organized in 1984 by Don and Marilee Tussing of Norman, Oklahoma and is a member of the Cimarron Region. We have lots of fun as well as learning how to be proficient in riding and caring for our horses. We also learn good sportsmanship, teamwork, and sharing. Members do not have to own a horse to be in Pony Club.

We enjoy competing in Regional and National competitons called "Rallies". We participate in Rallies in Eventing, Dressage, Show jumping, and Quiz. Quiz is an unmounted competiton like a Quiz Bowl where our knowledge of horses, horse sports and horsemanagement is tested. Divisions for all Pony Club rallies are according to age and rating.

Every year national championships for all USPC events are held at various locations throughout the country. Every three years the championships are held at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, along with other activities called "Festival".
