Reading of Minutes: Secretary read the Minutes.

Finished Business

The Y2K Cookie Baskets event went very well. We had a great turn out and lots of fun. We had originally aimed for 10 baskets but ended up making 25!

Unfinished Business

T-Shirts: Carla started taking orders for the T-Shirts. Only members who have paid their dues can actually order a shirt. A reminder on costs: $6.50 for sizes up to XLG. For XX the cost will be $7.50. Please order quickly.

Dues: Membership dues are now past due. If you have not yet paid your membership dues of $5, then please do so now.

Centennial Centerpieces: The Centennial Committee decided to do both centerpieces. A motion was made to order the matts cut (60 for $75). The motion was passed. An additional motion was made to purchase additional supplies approximating $20. This motion was passed also. The stamps for the centerpieces have arrived and two dates have been set for working sessions to make the centerpieces.

16th January at 3PM - Carla's house
23rd January at 3PM - Gale's house

The Muster - There was not much to report regarding the upcoming muster. We will most likely serve concessions. The Muster is scheduled for the last Saturday in February (the 26th).

New Business

Donation: Station 2 had a potty mouth jar (cuss jar) last year and ended up with $32 in it! They very kindly donated these proceeds to the YFDLA. Thank you Station 2!

YFDLA Kitty A motion was made to establish a "kitty" at each meeting, into which each member will make a small donation of money. These funds are to help with expenses in the pursuit of YFDLA's functions and events. The motion was passed and so was the kitty. We collected $27.85! The proceeds of which will help to off-set the costs of the

Centennial centerpieces.
Invitation to Retirees: Gale has issued personal invitations to the spouses of retirees of the department since Chief Fisher's arrival, to join the YFDLA. If you know of any retired firefighters spouses who you think would like to join us, please invite them to do so. Carla was going to check for a list of retired firefighters to see if we can track any of them down.

Yuma County Fair: Carla suggested that we might think ahead to next year's County Fair and perhaps get a booth. Carla will check to see if we can still get a booth for this year, even though it is short notice.

We discussed getting a banner, having buttons made, cups, candy, balloons (however, Cathy raised the very important issue of a safety hazard associated with balloons regarding young children). The possibility of having our very own "Sparkette" (a female version of Sparky) was also brought up and is something to think about. We do need a mascot.

Spring Function: Gale suggested that we think about a spring function or event that us ladies could do together, just for ourselves. Start thinking of things we can do.
