We Wish You A Merry Christmas & A Happy New Millennium!

Cookie Baskets & Centennial Centerpieces!

Ladies, we will meet at Amanda’s house at 6PM on the 30th December to make up the Cookie Baskets—make sure you bake up a big batch of goodies to be included in them. We will be filling 10 baskets! They are for a special cause. Pam Green is heading up the committee for this one, so call Pam for more information at (520) 782-1280 and to let her know what you will be contributing to this effort. After all, we don’t want the baskets to be a dozen different recipes of chocolate chip cookies (Not that there’s anything wrong with chocolate chip cookies, (did somebody say “chocolate”?) but variety is the spice of life, as they say.

We are also hoping to work on the Centennial centerpieces for the Centennial Celebration Dinner, (which were voted upon at the last meeting) so come on out to Amanda’s on the 30th and join in the fun. Amanda’s address is: 3824 E County 15 1/4 (near 4E) — balloons will be set out on the corner to help us find our way! Please also bring any accessories that you think will help to decorate the baskets, and if anyone has any baskets they would like to donate to the cause, they would be greatly appreciated.

For more information on the Centennial efforts, contact Gale at (520) 343-0777.

YFDLA T-Shirts

The T-Shirts have had the designs voted on and having individual names printed on the shirts was voted out, due to the added costs. The shirts will be beige in color with red lettering and the costs will be $6.50 per shirt up to size XLG. For XX, the price will be $7.50, and so forth. These T-Shirts are only available to members who have paid their dues (remember, annual dues are only $5.00!!) Please let Carla know what size T-Shirt you will be requiring. You can email Carla at CMW0165@aol.com or call her at (520) 342-0612.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Fire Engineer Bart Bartoluzzi and Linda Harris, who were married in Florida on December 1st, 1999. We all wish you a very happy and bright future together!

On Wednesday, December 8th, Fire Engineers Mike Walton, Gary Young and Cesar Dominguez accepted their promotion to Fire Captain. With their promotion they have been assigned to their new duties with a different crew effective during the week of December 13th. That same day Firefighters William Unterseh and Dusty Fields were notified of their selection to fill the Engineer vacancies that were created as a result of the Captain promotions. Great Job and Best of Luck in your new positions!

Hearty Welcomes

Kent Thompson began in his new position as Plans Examiner in the Fire Prevention Bureau recently. Kent comes over to the Fire Department family from the Department of Community Development Building Safety Division.

We also welcome two new ladies, Charlene Williamson (an ER nurse) and Monica Rillamas (a dental assistant). Welcome, ladies!! We hope to see you at the next meeting.

The Winterfest Pot Luck

The Winterfest Pot Luck was a great success! We had lots of participation and the food was fantastic. It was wonderful to see so many members and their families taking part in this activity. We should do this more often. Everyone had a good time. Not only did the adults get to socialize, but so did the kids! We even had movies for the little ones to watch. True to any Fire House, not one crumb of food went to waste—the goodies that were left were gratefully accepted by The Mission. Good job, Ladies!!

The Next Auxiliary Meeting

The Next Auxiliary Meeting is scheduled for the 12th of January at 7PM in the Training Room at Station One. Please remember that membership dues are now being accepted. Membership is just $5 per year. Dues should be presented to Shawna, our Treasurer.
