~ Serenity & Meditation ~

I love daylight and the sun, but am somewhat freightened by the dark. Being aware of my age and that mortality cannot be too far away, I love my early morning walks and thank the Lord for one more daybreak.

~~~Anna Navarro
When the world was in darkness,
The lord found a way
To summon the light,
And he called the light day.
He made man and then woman,
And the two became one.
But the beautiful garden
God placed the two in,
Was shrouded in gloom
By the very first sin.
And sin became rampant
And nearly had won,
When God in his mercy
Sent his only Son.
Some followed the light
And the pathway to life,
While others chose darkness,
Hardship and strife.
Though seasons may come
And seasons may go;
Whether mild gentle breezes
Or stormy winds blow,
There's a message the Holy Book
Wants us to know...
In the garden of life,
We need "Sonlight" to grow.
~~~Karen Taylor

Come Follow Me

Again therefore, Jesus spoke
to them, saying: "I am the light
of the world; he that followeth me,
walketh not in the darkness,
but shall have the light of life."

~~~John 8:12
On life's busy thoroughfares
We meet with angels unawares-
so, father, make us kind and wise
So we may always recognize
The blessings that are ours to take,
The friendships that are ours to make,
If we open up our hearts door wide
To let the sunshine of love inside.
~~~Helen Steiner Rice

The Present

Every sunshine is a present,
A gift from God above,
Gift-wrapped with scarlet ribbons
And tied with bows of love.

Each days a new beginning,
A time to start anew.
While all the stars are sleeping
And the rose is fresh with dew.

Every day's a new creation,
Too lovely to ignore,
And we may find a blessing
Just outside our door.

We cannot keep the past
Like fireflies in a jar.
Nor journey to the future
By wishing on a star.

Every sunrise is a blessing,
A gift for just today.
Rejoice, my friend, embrace it
Before it fades away!

~~~Clay Harrison
Serenity Angel
Serenity Prayer
GOD grant me the
Serenity to accept
the things I cannot change;
the courage
to change the things I can,
and the Wisdom to know the difference.
