Jerry also writes regarding the following photos: "Did you see the pictures that Eric got from Betty Olson of Joecks gals in 1920 (click here)? And seven surviving Joecks siblings in 1937? While reviewing the family tree data, I noticed that three siblings died in a nine-month period, Bertha (1865-1956), William (1973-1956) and Otto (1877-1957). Bernard (1870-1964) and Anna (1883-1969)--I don't have the exact birth/death dates for Bernard but he lived the longest, probably a bit longer than Len (Feb.1907-August 2000)." joecksfamily

Doin fine, thanks Eric--I'm busy with ski trips (x-c ski at Anvil/Nicolet national forest east of Eagle River on Sunday and four other areas; stayed at Wildcat lodge near Boulder Jct. with Sierra club), a class on child development!, renovation of a church owned apt. bldg., furniture bank, field trips with school classes, and reading WenWorld.com news of city council, mayor and legal shenanigans. Happy birthday Ren!! Sorry I missed the party/and the date! Read your update Eric; I'll look at the photos, movies at the college library computers--much faster, more software, etc. Love, Jerry

Dear kinfolks, Hope you had a good holiday. Thanks for the cards, gifts. I was in Wisconsin Christmas eve day at 2d cousin Lynn Meidam's bookshop in S. Milwaukee, then in Lannon at cousin Garry and Sharon Joecks' place (17 party- ers) on Christmas day. Later I went to 2d cousin Carol and Mike McGee's in Fox Point (about a dozen folks including Evelyne Bruckner). On New Years eve Lynne and I were at a party in the oldest house (an Italianate mansion) on the West side, built in 1869. Then the annual New Year's day Sierra club hike in the Morton Aboretum. The biggest blizzard since '79 is still blocking my garage and someone "stole" my parking place in the street tonite (I had "reserved" it with an old chair), but generally it's been a great time to get reacquainted with neighbors while shoveling walks and parking places and getting cars started in the cold. Jerry's been busy with several interesting things; researching investments and teenage topics for his church, watching Bergman movies, and backpacking in East Central Illinois. He is going to send me info for the family tree (which will hopefully appear here soon!); he has quite a bit of data.
