Yes, God is my strongest belief.
Although, my wife and family and music
mean everything to me too.
Without them all I would be nothing.
Wilber is my name, but many know me as Bud.
My musical interests started at about 9 years old.
I saved and saved until I had enough money
to buy that first guitar and I played it faithfully
until about the age of 18.
In those days my heart was elsewhere and so my music,
mostly consisting of country and pop.
It wasn’t until 30 years later that
I again picked up the guitar and began to play.
This time I played for the Lord
and my music as well as my life had changed.
I"ve spent 30 years in management but just like in the music,
God has changed my path there too.
I now work for the State of North Carolina as a Correctional Officer
in the Division of Prisons.
In this den of sin you see, hear and experience
many wrong things and I believe it takes a strong person
lead by God to undertake this task.
And with his guidance maybe someday I can help someone there
come to know the Lord as I go about my daily tasks.
I play the lead guitar and sing for our group
"BACKYARD GOSPEL MUSIC".
Feeling the need to minister to others through music and song,
I asked friends in music to come together with my wife and me
and help us get the word out.
My singing is an important part in my ministry to others about Jesus
and the music is there to make the soul happy
as well as for filling my personal needs.
My hopes for the future are to be successful in whatever I’m doing.
Not particularly monetarily,
but to fulfill my interpersonal and spiritual needs.
Naturally at my age, I’m looking forward to retirement.
I plan to continue a musical ministry and
continue to develop the talents that have been given me.
