Introduction

The Barney family can trace their beginnings back to around 1840 in Alabama.

Currently, the only known members of this family do not carry the Barney Surname, as it was the maiden name of my great grandmother Tama Barney Richards. The known members are currently located in the midwestern states. We gather every year for the "Richards Family Reunion." The reunion is held in the same place every year.
