| Mr. D. Beaton, an enthusiastic member of Gourock Model Yacht Club, leaves for America on August 29. Mr Beaton, it will be recalled, brought honor to the club by winning the Scottish Championship at Aberdeen last year with a yacht of his own design & construction. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| The above photo, taken by Mr. William Robertson, Pierhead, Gourock, shows Mr. Beaton with his yacht "Betty," which won the championship from other nine yachts representing various clubs throughout Scotland. He sailed his own yacht on that occasion. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mr. Beaton is at present in the employment of Mssrs James Adam & Sons, yacht Builders, Gourock, and on his departure he will be greatly missed by his friends and fellow workers. His services as a member of committee of the model yacht club were greatly appreciated, We are wishing him the best of luck in America.
