Unii's Bunny, Schnuggles

Bunny Bar

Finally, after a three year mourning, we think we are ready for a new bunny! David's brother was the proud new "dad" of a mama and kits. We went over the and took a look. We got the one that they called Blank. He was born on Sept. 23, 2002.

We have the new bunny now! :) Yay! He is named Schnuggles because he loves to schnuggle with me and nuzzle my neck. Upon the tenth week after birth, we found out he was a HE. :) I will get pics up ASAP! :)

We bought Schnuggles the new, larger Metro Condo Cage. We are going to do some alterations to the cage eventually. I am thinking about eventually adding a "digging area" connected to one side, so that Schnuggles can burrow and do bunny things in some fresh dirt. The connection would be made out of wood, and David, the dear husband that he is, is going to make the plans for this (whether or not he knows this! LOL).

Scnuggles had his first vet visit to Dr. Cathy Palomar on March 9, 2003. She was recommended via the OHRS. I am glad they did recommend her...as she is a GREAT vet!

We have changed Schnuggles' diet...it now consists of less than ⅛ cup of rabbit pellets/food, 1-1½ cups of fresh greens (usually endive, escarole, and dandelion greens), and 1-1½ cups of Timothy Hay. Of course endless water, as well!

We have also changed his cage around. He now has plywood on both levels to prevent sore hocks. (We were in the process of getting the wood for that when I took him to the vet anyway!)
