My Story...As A Birthmother
MAIN PAGE
This story has been harder for me to write than I ever invisioned in the beginning.... While Creating this website I have worked diligently on my link pages so that the resources here would be as complete as possible.
But, I have put off filling my story pages...

I once had pictures of Amanda, my Birthdaughter, through 6 mo's of age(now known as Erin) but a tragedy in 1986 caused the loss of those pictures. I was Heartbroken, as someday I had hoped I could give her pictures to her.

My daughter was with me for 6 weeks after she was born, I was in the hospital for a good prtion of that time, with complications of childbirth. I never planned to relinquish her for Adoption... I recall being up nights with Amanda, singing to her, crying with her, & talking to her.

I gave her the name Amanda Renee, not realizing later that her name would be so appropriate... Amanda is a form of the French word Amore & meant to be loved... & Renee translates as Repeat or Again... So her name meant "To Be Loved, Again"... & she was, by her Adoptive Parents.

The relinquishment of my Daughter was the hardest thing I have ever survived in my lifetime... Birthmothers never forget, as we are told we will...A mother cannot forget the child she carried & loved, no matter how hard she tries...I have never forgotten her, & will always love her.
