There will always be a FEW people who find a worthless page of value in some way... or will there?
  • THE DEATH CLOCK ~ Hmmm... Sound Morbid? Perhaps. It shows you can find ANYTHING on the internet! :)

  • Dead Page SHIP OF GOLD! - A modern day treasure discovery, at the bottom of the ocean! A mighty galleon carying several tons of gold sunk more then 100 years ago. Find out more about this amazing discovery!
  • ABANDONED PLACES... ~ This site has a very nostalgic, perhaps even forlorn atmosphere to it, for it documents those places that have been forgotten or left. Whether by owners who haven't been able to pay their debts, or entire populations that have left their homes behind. Although this is only a small sampling of the worlds once thriving towns or industries, it reminds us of what once was.
  • 1st Ever Animated-GIF Page on the Internet - This was the first gallery of GIF animation on the Internet. It was start in January of 1996 when the capability of GIF animation first appeared in Netscape 2.0 Beta. How to do GIF animation was announced at this site and advertised through Newsgroups. Within four months, GIF animation became the predominant form of animation on the web without a single non-Internet announcement, how-to, or press release.
  • Hi-Tech Tubes - Here is an interesting read on the manufacturing of high-quality and resolution picture tubes used in modern television sets.

    Birthday Fun!

  • The world of MOD's, S3M's, IT's, and XM's! (plus the demo scene!)

  • Alpha64 - This has to be the best site I've encountered! Richly designed, with a beautiful interface, it covers every aspect of the "MOD" world one could hope to find! Their mission? Promote Mod music to the public!! Unfortunately, they recently were hit by a hacker, in which they "lost everything." That must be horibly frustrating... The moral to the story? Always backup! Backup! BACKUP!!!
  • DIGITAL MAGIC! - A NEW discovery of mine! This site is a wonderful resource for some of the BEST MOD's, MP3's, etc. found on the web. It is the opinion of the web page to be a collection of only high quality MOD's. So visit his site, download some music, and see what YOU think! (NOTE: Since the majority of MOD's are written by amature musicians, they are 100% authorized to download. Unlike MP3's, which are generaly ripped and pirated from professional musicians!)
  • GFX ZONE! - Welcome to the mighty and elite world of "The Demo Scene! Demo competitions have been around since the early 1990's, and have always been a fantastic demonstration of programming and music genius! One of the original and best, "ASSEMBLY XX," is a demo competition that is hosted each year in Finland. All of the Demo's are written in 100% Assembly Language Code. Demo's in general refer to a self-contained program that displays graphical artwork and effects set to music. Generally there are three or more people that participate in the project: One person handles the coding, the second creates the graphics, and the third person composes the music soundtrack (generally a MOD or S3M style) used in the demo. The demo scene is an interest of mine that I have been involved with since i386 days! :) This is a tremendous site for all kinds of "demo scene" resources and links. Have fun, and try not to get TOO addicted! ;)
  • The HORNET ARCHIVE's - Visit the dwindling remains of a once large and powerful empire! This massive archive was, long ago, filled with over 300 gigabytes of trackers, music and demo compositions, and samples. But it reached a time when the maintenance requirements FAR outweighed the energy of those who maintained it! Visit the shadowy remnants of their land, and bow your head in reverernt tribute to their memory...
  • 'IMPULSE TRACKER!' - (The Official Website) Although I feel that it was really Scream Tracker that launched the "music module" concept to where it has currently evolved, Impulse Tracker reached out and caught hold to the momentum and propelled it to a much higher level! Although the interface of IT is extremely similar to ST, numerous changes, enhances, and sophistication were added. (i.e. superb panning controls) If you are a music lover at heart, and are interested in finding out more about what "MOD" composition is all about, there is no better place to start!
  • MF-Music Denmark - A site dedicated to the beautiful world of music composition. This site boasts a large collection of resources, and includes links to many useful and informative pages. The layout is beautifuly done; this is a 'must see' site! Oh, and best of all are the regular module compositions they hold!

    Computer Hardware and Software:

  • ACRONYMS! Ever wanted to know the full meaning of a word? (i.e. When each letter of a word represents another word.)
  • Alta - Vista ~ Trying to search for something, but can't get anywhere? Try the most extensively indexed engine on the WEB! (Or try one of the other major web-engines at the bottom of this page!) And a great new search engine that has exploded this year, coming in fierce competition with Alta-Vista, is "GOOGLE", quite possibly the SECOND best search engine for browsing the web. And quite a bit easier in its default searches, as many newbies don't know about using "+" and "-" in front of words or phrases to cut down on search results. Google assumes you want to check *ALL* the workds by default, and not *ANY* of the words. ;)
  • Amazon.com! ~ The world's largest bookstore, online 24hours every day!
  • ANAGRAM Page! (Hello Derek!) Instantly convert any name, word, or group of words into dozens of anagram's. Either download the software for WIN and MAC, or try it for free on-line!
  • BILL GATE'S FINANCIAL STATUS ~ Find out the up-to- minute earnings of our fearless leader! This page breaks down Bill Gates earnings in so many interesting ways! Definitely PAY THIS SITE A VISIT! Your spontaneous laghter will be caused by shock and disbelief, NOT humor. For as incredulous as the page's facts may seem... THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY TRUE! (I know, I know, ENOUGH of Bill Gates already! I PROMISE this is the last one!)
  • C: Dos Classic Games Kind of a WAREZ of ancient DOS games and software, this site has been founded to bring the great game and application classics of the IBM-Clones yesteryear. These are some of the best titles developed when "Intel 8088" was King!
  • INFOCOM lives! One of the great founding companies in the world of computer adventure games. One of their most memorable titles was "Zork!" Involving no graphics, the entire game was text-based. They went on to make several Zork sequals, and a dozen or so other text-adventure games. Although they began to disappear as graphical games appeared, Infocom's text-adventure games were without rival. Myself and each of my brothers and sisters were solidly hooked to their Zork trilogy. (But on an Atari 130xe computer! :D) Pay this site a visit to find out mroe about Infocom!
  • PRICE-WATCH! Get the best prices for the hottest hardware on the net!
  • PHOTOMOSAIC ~ Want to see what Bill Gates is REALLY made of?! heh heh! Or, click here to go directly to Robert Silvers home page. (Creator of the photomosaic concept.)
  • WEB MARKET ~ Search for the best shopping values on the web!

    Operating System Information:

  • MSDOS TUTORIAL This site is an awesome place to find information about how to use DOS. It displays a list of the majority of DOS commands, syntax, command switches, and even a nice selection of undocumented switches! :) In my opinion, one of the best intuitive layouts of any tutorial site I have ever ran across. Important dates, names, and other keywords have been cross-referenced to make it simple and fun to find out what you are after. :)

DOS GAMES! Revisit DOS nostalgia! Shareware/fullware ;)

  • DOS GAMES ARCHIVE A great selection of over 150 Dos games. Games such as UGH!, Bouncing Babies, 3-Demon, Brix, Catacomb Abyss, Descent, EGA-Trek, Epic Pinball, Jazz Jackrabbit, Keen, and One Must Fall 2097! The early greats that helped define gameplay, on the IBM PC, started off in the days of DOS. Gaming Companies like Apogee, ID Software, and Epic MegaGames! I played many of these growing up, to relieve the stress from High School! :) Some of these games, such as 'Bouncing Babies,' played full speed on my Zenith Data System with 512k, and an integrated CPU running at the blazing speed of 5mhz! As such, the games were not based on clock cycles, but actual CPU cycles, the game would run as fast as the computer could take it... not a problem until computes began hitting 33mhz, 66mhz, etc! :) Even then, you still had TURBO switches on computer's through the 486 series of computers, so you could slow the processor enough to still play the old games. Now we've reached a time where computers are running at ten times that speed, and even more. So in order to run the really old games, you need to download a utility such as Mo'Slo, that wastes tons of CPU processing, resulting in the old games being playable. (Download 'Mo'Slo' from this site also)
  • DOSGAMES.COM Yet more great games from the vintage past. This site has been around longer, and also offers some newer choices. But it still has what makes these sites so great... great DOS games! Other pluses include a sleek interface that is easy to use and read. Games are also sorted by category, and give the option to search for a desired game. Games included on this site are Sint Nicholas, States&Capitals, God of Thunder, Kroz, Mah Jongg, Adventure Game Studio, and even the great ZZT! ZZT is text-only, but my brothers and sisters played it for many hours, even generating their own levels. Ah... the days of DOS! :)

Icon's, clip art, and other graphical links:

  • Dead Page Art4stuff An awesome page with a cool beginning! Trade anything you own for customized art. (barter with /em!)
  • CUSTOMIZE YOUR DESKTOP! ~ Free Icon's to download. A pretty sharp looking site.
  • DESKTOP THEMES UNLEASHED! This site contains TONS of desktop themes for Windows95 and Windows98. What's that? You don't have "Microsoft PLUS!" installed? No problem! ((Dead Page Click here)) for alternative "Theme" utilities.
  • IconForge! ~ Ever wanted to create your own Icons? Well now you can.
  • ICONS ~ Yet more icons... a large smattering of them, in ZIP format.
  • Joan Stark's ASCII Art Gallery - Here's a really decent site created for spreading awareness on the wonderful world of ASCII art. It's something I've enjoyed for many years, and I finaly found a site that does it justice!
  • WEB WORDS --> This is a GREAT site for FREE, custom graphics. While the majority of everything you see on my website was created by me (i.e. all of my banners, buttons, scans, and other graphics), there are occasions when I will make use of somebody elses masterpiece.

Emulation!(The "simulation" of other computer systems)

  • ARCADE AT HOME! ~~ Visit this site for a great variety of resources! This page includes Emulation news, photos, diagrams, as well as backup ROMS for those of you with an original machine. If one of your arcade machine board's seems to be dead, it may just have a bad ROM that needs replacing... Here's the place to do it!
  • ARCHAIC RUINS One of the first site's to feature information about the world of EMULATION, Archaic Ruins has long been a favorite of mine. For a while it looked as though it would vanish forever, as many great emulation pages has. But they're back!!! Visit Archaic Ruins for the extensive list of Emulators out there! (Updated Daily)
Although this site is now dead, R.I.P., I did find a link to some of the articles that are still indirectly available. Click here: Archaic Ruins Articles
  • Dead Page ATMOSPHERICAL HEIGHTS ~ One of the best Emulation pages to grace the WWW has slowly faded into the historical annals of emulation history. Take a moment to pay your respects...
  • ClassicGaming ~ Visit this site for a tremendous amount of resources... One of the big sites in Emulation! And with a very nice interface!
  • "Dead Page Dave's Video Game Classics! " ~ If you don't find what you're looking for at Archaic Ruins, pay a visit to the equally tremendous realm known as Dave's Video Game Classics
NOTE: Dave just moved his site to his new home, at Dead Page Vintage Gaming!
  • Dave's Vintage Gaming Network ~ This is currently the site that was once "Dave's Video Game Classics." The page has evolved significantly. And although I don't like the current interface nearly as much as one of Dave's original one's, it still is among the best pages for current Emulation Information across all computer/console/arcade platforms.
  • Have you played Atari today?!! Relive the 1970's! Were you a master of Pitfall? Did you have the cunning and skill to champion Pac Man? The reflexes for Kaboom?! If you were an Atari 2600 GrandMaster, with the best scores on the block, click here for Tony Case's page! Trumpet your greatness to the whole world!!!
  • Guru's ROM Dump site This is a new site I just found. It would appear that he has all kinds of snazzy equipment for ripping the information from Arcade machine ROM's and other chips. Copying the information and machine code from the many chips on a given arcade machine's PCB board(s) and then saving that information as binary files, is what allows the emulation of Arcade Machines, Gaming Systems, and Computers. If you can copy and save the information from the BIOS chip of a Macintosh, for instance, you can write a computer program to emulate a Macintosh. And if you visit the sites I have listed in this section, you'll find that nearly every computer system, gaming system, and even Arcade Machines, have been emulated. The accuracy and extent to which the given system can be emulated is determined by three things: 1) The skill of the programmer and his/her knowledge of the system he/she is emuating. 2) The level to which the ROMS, BIOS, and other chips have been encrypted, and/or the amount of information that has been released about the circuitry and inner- workings of the emulated system. 3) The speed on which the emulator is being ran. Anyway, that's probably more than you expected. :)
  • M.A.M.E. (Multi Arcade Machine Emulator) The definitive Arcade emulator, currently emulating *2337* arcade machines! (As of version 0.37, beta realse 7!) For an emulator to simulate a single computer or gaming machine is amazing enough; Again, MAME supports 2337 different arcade machines, EACH with it's own unique blend of electronic circuit's! Few emulator's are able to match M.A.M.E. The MAME project has grown tremendously since the original "Multi-Pac" Emulator. In January 1997, Nicola Salmoria started Multi-Pac etc. emulators which are now known as M.A.M.E. The first official release was MAME 0.1, released on the evening of 5th of February 1997 (Italy time 23:32). MAME was originally born as collection of several emulators done by Nicola. Using a driver oriented architecture, it later grew until the current version that weighs at 1400 (!) games supported. This wouldn't be possible without the talent of a group of programmers that joined to form what is now known as the MAME team! Nicola is the coordinator of the project.
  • Monroe World! ~ Visit them for another great source in the world of Emulation!
  • Stella! ~ Considered at one time to be the best Atari 2600 console emulator written, Stella emulates most of the games made for the Atari2600 Console. And fairly accurately! Be aware, however, that the performance of "Z26" is considerably smoother. And significantly faster then Stella. (due to Z26's assembly code) "Z26" also more accurately emulates the sound of the Atari 2600. It's really a toss-up between Stella and Z26. So YOU decide... download BOTH! *grin*
  • " Z26!" Relive the Atari 2600! Written in 100% Assembly, blazingly fast and accurate, this Emulator rocks! And only 18k in size! (includes sound) And BTW, this is by FAR my most favorite emulator... I long ago lost interest in Stella; Z26 has been GREATLY improved to support nearly every 2600 game in existence, including "Pitfall II," the game that had a special sound chip built right into the cartridge. And because John Saeger tortured himself enough to write it in 100% Assembly Language, it blazes on almost ANY machine with high frame rates, and nearly perfect sound. It's a must!

    C/C++ Links and Resources

  • TTT SYSTEM (Topic, Task, & Test) ~ One of the best sites I have found for a great tutorial in the subtleties, complexities, and power of the C++ language.

  • CLASS STRUCTURE ~ An insight into one programer's style of game programming in DOS.
  • FAQ for GNU C++ Compiler ~ It is what it says!

MP3's ~ The controversial new world!

  • WinAmp's Home Page! ~ The home of the greatest MP3 players out there! If you LEGALLY own the CD's or cassette's, you can play MP3 compressed files off your personal computer. (Be honest! The musicians of the world make their livelihood based on our integrity.) They have my skin available for download. :)
  • WinAmp Skins ~ A new, very well-designed page in the MP3 genre. It sprung up recently, and is kind enough to also display my WinAmp skin for download.
  • More Skins ~ Still another site that favored my winamp skin enough to feature it!
  • My Skin Again! ~ It's interesting to me to observe how something can spread from place to place... especialy with the world-unity the internet provides. Here again is my Titanic Skin, on a Japanese page I'm not familiar with!
  • Unofficial WinAmp Skin Specs ~ Information on the makeup of WinAmp Skins.
  • MP3 Download Databse This is an awesome site for downloading MP3's. For the most part, the links are current, and exist. It's extremely difficult to find a site of MP3's, due to the contraversial legalities involved with MP3's. Please realize that unless you own the original song on CD or cassette, it is ILLEGAL to download the MP3. Remember that musician's need to earn money too! :)

  • Add Me!
