Riding the ponies

At fairs or other events pony rides are a big draw for young cow pokes. It's a short ride, but it's enought to imagine riding the range or chasing the bad guys. This was taken when Benjamin was four.

At the school fun fest, they had rides. Benjamin rode twice -- once on a pony and once on a burro. It's almost as good as a galloping steed. He's wearing the medal he earned for running in the 3/4-mile race. Check the First Grade page to see pictures from the race
