Yard work

Benjamin likes being outside. Outside his imagination runs wild and he'll do all kinds of things. Playing in the dirt is more than that -- it's building a castle, a road or planting a garden. He's tried planting things, but he doesn't have the patience to wait for them to grow.

He likes being outside whether it's sunny or rainy, summer or winter. If it's too hot, he won't stay outside too long, but he'll still go outside. With rain boots like these he had a few years ago, nothing would stop him. He would go out dry and come back very muddy. This photo was taken in 1997 -- two pairs of boots ago.

When he's outside playing, he's often singing or humming some song, so you can tell he enjoys being outside.
