Yes, we do get by with a little help from our friends. All of our friends are listed in no particular order, so no favoritism is being shown here. We cherish all our friendships.

Alan & Deanna

Alan and Deanna have been friends of ours for several years. They own a local sporting goods store, which they opened in the summer of 1998. Deanna is also a registered nurse employed for the city school district. They have 2 children, Kristen, age 18, and Jarrod, age 16.

Dave & Susan

Dave and Susan have been friends of mine since about 1975. They have been married 29 years and have two children: Michael, age 24, and Amy, age 21. They own and operate a local school bus transportation service. Susan can do a seal imitation that sounds just like a real seal. This is the message she leaves on my answering machine so I know to call her back.

Jim & Robin

Robin is one of my childhood friends. Jim and Robin have been married 25 years and have two children: Jessica, age 25 (my goddaughter), and Jacob, age 18. They also have one granddaughter, Peyton, age 6. They live in Owensboro, Kentucky, where Jim is an ironworker and has been over 25 years. Robin and I have been buds as long as I can remember.

Mark & Laura

Mark is one of Larry's childhood friends. Mark and Laura have been married 17 years. Mark owns an investment company and several properties in the Southern Illinois area. Laura is manager of one of their apartment properties. They have two children: Bryan, age 16, and Joanna, age 13. Larry and Mark have been friends since grade school.

Larry Dean & Suzy

Larry Dean is one of Larry's childhood friends. Larry Dean is a roofer and Suzy works in the County Courthouse. They have two children: Kirk, age 15, and Jordan, age 14. Larry Dean and Larry lived together when I first met Larry. We had lots of fun back in the good old days. It was a bachelor pad deluxe.

Steve & Tracy

Steve and Tracy have been friends of ours for many years. Steve works at Walgreen's and Tracy works for an auctioneer. They have 2 children: Rachel, age 12, and Taylor, age 10. Steve loves to hunt and has been hunting with Larry many times. Tracy is busy with the kids' activities and I don't get to see her much. You know what happens when the kids are growing up and there are so many of their activities to keep you busy. I told her that when the kids got older and didn't want to hang around with her anymore, I would see more of her.

Darrell & Terry

Darrell and Terry have been friends of ours for about 20 years. Darrell loves to fish and he and Larry have fished together. They have one son, Deric, age 19. Darrell and Deric love the Internet and we send e-mails back and forth. Darrell owns and operates a company that sells and constructs metal buildings.

Steve & Teresa

Steve and Darrell are brothers. I worked with Teresa at an insurance adjusting company for 4 years. Steve and Teresa own and operate a concrete sales and service company. They have two daughters: Alex, age 12, and Amanda, age 9. Steve likes to fish, but he loves duck hunting probably the best. Larry used to duck and goose hunt years ago, but doesn't have the time to do it anymore. I think he would rather be fishing more than anything.

John & Debi

John and Debi are our Rams tailgate party friends. They live about 1/4 mile from us and have 4 children: Matt, Jaclyn, Jessie and B.J. John and I are the same age and Larry and Debi are the same age. We always have a great time together at class reunions. John owns and operates a construction company and Debi owns and operates a printing company and is also a CPA.

Mike & Kristy

Mike loves to fish and he is a fishing buddy of Larry's. Mike is in the construction business. He built our house. They have two children: Erica and Tyler.

Scott & Emily

Scott and Emily have been friends of ours for a long time. Scott is co-owner and operator of a local tire sales and service company. Emily owns and manages several commercial and residential properties in the area, besides being a full-time mom. They have one daughter, Katelyn. Scott loves sports and is another Rams tailgate party bud. They just bought a new home in the city and it is beautiful.

Mark & Stacy

Mark is a hunting buddy of Larry's. Also they went to school together. Mark owns and operates a gas sales company. Mark and Stacy have 4 children. Stacy owns and operates Sundowner Acres. She has llamas, miniature horses, and all kinds of different animals.

Kent & Marsha

Kent is a fishing buddy of Larry's. He and his wife Marsha have two sons. Kent works at a local manufacturing plant. Marsha is busy training two young sons. They are a young couple who are just the nicest kids. We see them during the summer months at fishing tournaments.

Jerry & Donna

Jerry is a fishing buddy of Larry's also. (He has lots of them!) Jerry is retired and Donna retired in 2001 from a county grade school where she worked in the office. Jerry and Donna have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. Jerry and Donna are two of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. We don't see much of them anymore as they have moved to Missouri to live closer to their children.

Al & Tami

Al is a fishing buddy. Al and Tami own and operate a gas company. They have one daughter, Elizabeth, in college. Larry goes to Lake Fork, Texas every April on a bass fishing trip with several buddies and Al is one of those buddies. Al & Tami live about a mile from us. They have a beautiful home with an inground swimming pool.

Marty & Jane

Larry works with Marty in the water department. Jane is a secretary at the county comprehensive services center. They have 2 children: Christopher and Allison. Marty loves to hunt and has several birddogs.

Jim & Janice

Jim and Janice have been friends of ours for a long time. Jim loves to deer hunt and is president of the local bow hunting club. Jim works at a coal mine and Janice is an accountant. They have one daughter, Angie, who is in college. They are very nice people and we love to go out to dinner with them. Their daughter Angie is my bud. We have a lot in common since she is an only child too.

Walt & Janet

Walt is a deer hunter friend also. He works for the conservancy district at the local corps of engineers office. Janet works at a bank. They have one son, Brent.

Bill & Rhonda

Bill and Rhonda have been friends of ours for a long time. Bill works at a local sporting goods store and is an expert bow hunter. Rhonda is data processing supervisor at an area hospital. They have one son, Jason, who is a high school coach in St. Louis.

David & Jennifer

I worked with Jennifer at a local bank for several years. They are a very nice young couple. We don't get to see them as often as we would like, but we still consider them one of our best friends. Jennifer and I can get together and talk for hours.

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. If I have, forgive me and e-mail me and chew me out. LOL. We are blessed to have so many friends and value each and every one of their friendships.
