Welcome!

Legends And books and tales of woe,

speak of nations of long ago,

of skin of red with colored paint,

and how they were savages and had no restraints,

but all those stories were never right,

because the first true Americans were a beautiful sight.

~Family Ties~

The meaning of love should really start there,

for they were gentle with all living things,

they loved all creations both beautiful and strange,

and they really cared.

They gave thanks to their Mother which we call the Earth,

for the bounty she provided them and for their birth,

they prayed to the Heavens as we do today,

and for God to protect them in every way,

they were brother to the Wolf and the Mighty Bear,

and got strength from the Eagles that soared in the air,

they prayed for rain to nourish their land,

just like you and I or any other man,

they were connected to the Wind and the Mighty Sun,

gifts of nature they never shun.

The silver rays of the Beautiful Moon,

help give meaning to their native tunes,

they loved their children with very deep ties,

and would teach them early in life how to survive,

they learned too from the Elk and the Majestic Deer,

how to embrace one another and show no fear.

These weren't barbarians if you ask me,

just a nation of people who wanted to be free

This is a method in which the Indians kept enemies at bay,

for there were waring nations who were there that way,

one's who would pillage and set to flame,

peaceful tribes who lived on the plains.

like you and I a skirmish at times,

but all in all their life was divine.

They layed by the waters and fished the streams,

and worked the land with tenderness it seems,

they danced by the fires that blazed so bright,

and gave offerings to the spirits that lived in the night,

they buried their loved one's with charming grace,

and wished them well on the journey to the happy hunting place,

all these things they did without reservation

these loving people of the Indian nations.

Then up popped the Devil as one would say,

Gold and Silver was found where they played,

and all at once people from another race,

started to come to this beautiful place,

bringing with them tools of steel,

and mighty Thunder Sticks that could kill,

they started to dig and ravage this Indian land,

and destroy the beauty of it's open span,

they would dig in the belly of Dear Mother Earth,

and cut down her timbers and build their berths,

they built hugh structures out of the trees they took,

and continued to destroy the land and it's looks.

The Paleface was powerful this much is true,

and in the end it proved just what they could do.

They set out on the open range,

and destroyed by thousands the Indians game,

The Buffalo on which the Indians fed,

in great numbers would fall by the fire power they shed,

and places that were sacred to the Indain man,

like their Burial Grounds

there too riches were found,

till nothing else was left to chance,

these powerful Nations took up the lance

~Battles and More~

These battles went on for a very long time,

great pain and suffering on both sides,

the Indians weren't willing to give up their land,

and they fought for it with great pride.

If I were Indian and had been there,

at the front of the challenge I would be,

for like the Indians, I love this land,

and I have fought to keep it free,

from all oppresors both near and far,

for Mother Earth means the world to me.

So I am no different than the Indian race,

why should we be judged by the color of our face.

The sad thing that tears at my heart,

is how a race of whites so strong,

couldn't work out a Treaty of Life ,

that would have lasted from now on,

broken promises never did a thing,

just caused more suffering and greater pain.

We were the intruders that's for sure,

and we took by force,

a nations way of life they knew

and set them on another course,

and expected them to keep their pride,

when the creators gift to them was denied.

This is wrong no matter what you say,

to run rough shod over anothers place,

and to change the course of history and another race,

for the earth God built was for one and all,

not for tyrants I say

and who were we to use such power to do that anyway.

Soon we will be going into the 21st century,

and to me not a lot has changed,

for the battle continues for the first Americans,

and for the open range.

I hope in the future we will open our eyes,

and see what a price was paid,

by the first true Americans who were here,

and now scattered all over today
