RUSTY
Rusty has had increasing shortness of breath upon exercise or excitement
for several years since he was about four years old.
He would also gag frequently at night and seemed uncomfortable during these times.
I brought this to the attention of our vet, when it first occured,
but he did not feel that Rusty was experiencing anything unusual.
Because his symptoms became more severe,
we went to a specialist who scoped him and confirmed LP.
He feels that there might be a connection between the LP and his Hersprung's Disease.
He had surgery today, because his condition was considered serious and potentially fatal.
So far he is recovering.

Rusty almost died when he was 11 months old from Hershprungs.
The same surgeon who save his life then did his L.P. operation.
He'll be eight on November 8.
And I am not ready to let him go.

This has taken a toll on me both physically and mentally.
I've had Rusty since he was an 8 week old pup.
He is my bright shining star -- my dearest friend.
My happiest moments were watching him chase hawks in open fields or seagulls by the ocean.
The sun and wind made beautiful music in his red-golden fur.
