Well, I haven't written in a while but I wanted to say hi and leave a short message. I visit the site often, it is on my "favorites" list and I hadn't seen a new entry in some time. I go to the cemetery at least once a month to visit and make it a point to freshen up flowers as necessary. I really enjoy the "visits" very much as it helps me to remember all of the good times we shared. I have found myself talking about Steve a lot lately and he has really been on my mind...even more than usual. Maybe i is the holiday season or something I'm not sure...but I know Steve is in a better place and smiling down on us with his big, warm, loving and accepting smile. I would like to wish a happy holiday to each and every one of Steve's family members and frien s...may God blees you and keep you each and every one!!!

I ran across you site surfing about Roswell. I lived in Roswell most of my life, with the longest period being 1977 to 1990. I raised my children there, but was afraid of the drugs and violence and moved to the midwest when they were 13 and 9. Unfortun tely, we could not escape those things, and I lost my son in 1998 at the age of 21 and life will never be the same. I am sorry for your loss, and hope you find peace. Steve was my best friend for many years and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. We shared a lot of good times and bad times. I frequently remember the late nights we spent sitting outside talking and sharing thoughts, and all of the late nights playing monopoly and stealing play money from his sisters when they weren't looking (Ha Ha) We also spent quite a bit of time with my cousin Joe Drake, the three of us were the "three musketeers" as named by ourselves. Well, Joe was killed in an automob le accident on Thanksgiving, 1995. I like to think they are together watching over me and I feel good knowing they have each other. I will log on to this site and write often. I'm so glad I was able to find it, I had heard there was a web site but had ever found it before-it looks great and I feel honored to sign in on it...Steve, I love you and miss you very much. Peggy, I know you from Sertoma Bingo and saw the webpage in the Daily Record (Roswell). I remember the day well (September 27, 1991), and how the entire town was devastated to hear of this tragedy. I never expected to come across a website like this, but I'm glad I did. I may have been aware of the deaths of our children before, but now I am very aware. I have not lost a child, and I can only say that I know it would tear me apart as I only a 6 yr. ld and she is my little miracle. Very touching, very creative. I've lost a granddaughter, not by violance, but at 18 months old, the most difficult and saddest day of my life. I think of her often. I also wrote a poem for her service. She was so precious. Sept. 5th she would have be n 6. I work with 6 year olds each day and am reminded daily of how precious and alive she would have been, if she'd lived. She had SMA, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a very rare disease.
