Dan and Rose Evander's Home Page

Welcome to Dan Senior and Rose's Home Page. This is Dan and I'll keep this message breif. If you would like to explore any of my interests or ask detail questions, please leave me an E-Mail.

Rose and I were both brought up in San Francisco. We met at San Francisco City College in 1968. We've been married since 1969. Rose works as a baker at the Duck & Decanter here in Phoenix and I have been working as a manager at Bank of America, Credit Card Division since 1993. I have been a system's manager at American Express and before that at Fireman's Fund Insurance.

Danny & Serena Rose and I share a common interest in stamp collecting, jazz and, of course, watching our two children develop into mature adults in their own right.

Phoenix is very different from where we lived in Northern California. We have over 330 days of sun each year and the desert has a beauty all it's own. We miss the green of the northern wet lands but have learned to find an equal love of all Arizona has to offer.

A little bit of information on the Evander name. In the 18th century, a family of Evander's immigrated to the Boston area (circa 1770). A century latter another un-related Evander family from Sweden settled in Western Minnesota (Martin Evander). It is from Martin, his seven sons and daughters, that my family evolved. Today, there are hundreds of Evanders throughout the Western United Status, and they are all related to Martin. My mother's family immigrated to San Francisco in 1903 from Italy. Her father's name was Lunardini, and in his prime, he was a well known chef in North Beach, San Francisco during the prohibition and through the 1950's. I have two sisters, Muriel in Sacramento and Dorothea in Santa Rosa. My mother Gina Parker lives with Muriel.

Rose is from the Mugas family. Her father and mother came from the Philippines right after the Second World War. Rose's father worked for the Navy for over 30 years as a rigger, and was responsible for lowering the Polaris missiles into nuclear submarines. Rose's mother was a nurse in San Francisco for many years and now lives in Stockton California. Rose is an identical twin and her sister, Connie Lee also lives in Stockton.

Since I'm now 53, my wife Rose and I are starting to think about where we want to retire. Phoenix is a good location, but as I mentioned earlier, we miss the green of the North West. If you have suggestions about possible retirement sites, please write devander@primenet.com. We are considering locations in the north west and south west. We like to fish and hike in the cooler climes of the pines and along the ocean shore. We love the western states and have never really been exposed to extreme cold. Like most of you, money will be a consideration, so we have already ruled out the higher priced areas.
