I was in a Christian Clut. It is called "The Bible Speaks. The number one reason I was traped in was because of my lack of knowledge on the Bible. I was a young baby Christian when I got sucked in. The pastors last name was DeVoid. They wanted you to give all that you own and give to their church. THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY FIRST WARNING SIGN. I spent a year in that cult.
The pastor is like a Moses. You didn't question his preaching, or you question God.

I know that words are cheap at times like this, and the only thing to do is turn to the Lord for help and advice. He says to try the spirits to see which the are from, not all are good. God is love, but you also have to do as He says in 2Thes. 5:21, and t
at is to prove all things and hold fast to that which is good. I am sorry for your daughters death, but don't worry, she is sleeping and will awaken when Christ comes back at the resurection (the seventh, and last trump). Doctors are here for our good als
, if they were not then Christ would of said so, but did He not tell the Pharisees in Mark 2:17, that the ones that are sick are the ones that need a physician, and the ones that are well didn't! Your answers are in His guid book to life if you learn how
o look for it the way He says, and not the way man says to. Please don't give up on the Lord, but try to learn just who He really is and you will be OK. I mean this in Godly love. Les.

My dear Friends:
My heart aches for you.
I had a good friend that I believed was a godly man.
A pastor who loved GOD and people.
But he developed adult onset diabetes.
He left his church and joined with a church that taught the same as your former cult.
they told him that if he really would trust in god and pray he would be healed of the problem.
They told him to not take his medication.
Then he got sick. They said prayer and faith healing would heal him. they didn't know that that he had a started bleeding internaling from an aneursim.
He died. They said, tolf his family he didn't have enough faith.
I hope that they burn in the deepest part of hell.
I will pray for your family and beg you to know the true living GOD never told us to stay away from the doctors He gave to us to help heal us.

I think you were wrong to not take her to the Doctors. Please note God uses them to accomplish His plan. God does heal but not always in the way we expect Him to. I had a young man's funeral of some parents in my church who would not take my advice and
they went off to some healer and they still didn't get any help. Finally when they came back and took my advice they were too late. It may be too late for Debbie but maybe this mistake will not be made again.

I read Dad's page. Consider the word evil in the greek in the open of Galatians. Jesus freed us from this present evil age..... I think that it is spelled ponayos. It means grevious labor and if you chain it through it is talking of slavery. The real
ssue of the gospel is being dead and not knowing purpose or design of own life, blindly following another. Jesus died at the hands of those he accused of not entering into the kingdom and preventing the others from entering. It is a public testamony for
all men in all ages to know that the leaders may not be acting in our best interests. Jesus in his discussion with Peter states that flesh has not revealed who he was to Peter but his Father. On this Jesus said he would build his church. Each of us has
the ability to delineate God for himself. There was a passage in one of the epistiles about false teachers and not needing a teacher as we have the annointing that was in the beginning. If you even journal your thoughts and observations of the world arou
d you after months you will notice recurring themes and see pattern.
You might try an "on line" Bible for study. It is King James, but has the lexicons and a number of commentaries included. I love mine and it has been hellpful in my searching for truth.

I have been a businessman and the thing about the world is that it has responded to the Judeao/Christian teachings. We live in a contract society and are not under feudalism. You couldn't run a country with 250 million plus without a moral foundation, a
archy could not possibly supply our daily needs.
Paul's revelation is that we are all one, inside and outside the temple. (no Jews or Gentiles, but one) Jesus died at the hands of the temple leaders not the "world". God's program is not them against us.
After our little sojourn with an abberant group, we returned to the church I was raised in.
We almost lost our daughter this summer and I am glad for the mature Christians who could reach out to us in our troubles. It was interesting to note that some of the totalistic folks that we have known could look right past the little girl in the whee
chair and blabber on about their problems that are as yet still unsolved. I have seen complete strangers come to tears, and yet these folks we spent so much time with are dead emotionally and stalled out in their lives. We noticed while with them that t
ey couldn't even love on their own children, but were ever centered on themselves. Legalism gets a bad wrap, but it is the middle ground between God's jail and God's heart. Most people are able to obey the rules of the society and love on each other an
each other's children.
In facing the possible loss of our only child, we know that God is soverign. It has been difficult enough, but it felt like we were in a play and there were so many people placed around us to encourage us despite the poor prognosis by the doctors.
There were just too many for it to have been coincidence. We were in a city 100 miles from our home.
Don't judge yourself too harshly. As Paul taught we are but a tent of flesh in this time here. All God seems to want from us in this life is to learn to love outside ourselves. Some of us are not very quick studies. Your daughter has been excused
rom training. If God wanted her here she would be here in spite of any thing that was done one way or the other. I am sure of it after watching the chess game He played with us this summer.
I read in a magazine that the best friends that you will ever have are those people you raise your children with. Find some solid folks who are not lost to their children and play together. Ann Landers had a piece about a man and what he learned ea
h decade of his life and in his fifth decade he learned that dogs are mans best friend and dogma is not. Leave the God stuff to God and go play. Jesus said that there was no sign but the sign of Jonah for the wicked and adulterous generation (lost?) .
f one wanders there is the fish hotel where God takes away their options. God teaches by show and tell not by Bible thumping and cult hunting.
May God bless you and give you his peace.
R Dickson.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had cancer 3 times and the Lord did heal me after the drs. gave up on me. We do not know why except--sometimes God needs them home to make heaven a place for us to want to come to. May He heal the hurting and pain you feel as
well as the doubts. One thing I had was His word to me that He would heal me if I did what He said in James 5. My church did not believe in "faith-healing" and would not do this. Finally He led me to a church in Phoenix and they did what the Lord said
n James 5 and I am still here. One of the things my drs. said when I developed cancer again after 13 years was "we cannot do anything for you but you survived for these 13 years and we see no reason why you won't survive this one as well. There was no c
emo to give me and they would kill me if they gave me any more radiation. I had had my limit! That was is 1985. My drs finally made a chemo that they felt would work on my cancer and gave it to me. Praise God I am still here, whether from the chemo or
just God's healing me, I do not know! Why did I survive, when Debbie is "at Home?" I have no answer but God's will be done in earth as it is in heaven. There were 5 ladies to come down with cancer in my church and died. Why, when I survived? Only God
knows! I still had work to do that He had called me to, I believe! I believe Heaven is sweeter if it holds our loved ones and draws us there. I have a little sister in Heaven. Now a mom and dad and one grandchild who lived only 5 weeks. Why? I do not
know. I only know that God has a plan and is working his plan and we will "understand it better by and by"
Would I have taken Debbie to the dr. yes, but you did what you thought best at the time. Maybe you wouldn't do that now. Forgive yourselves and your church and go on. "All things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are the called acc
rding to His purpose.
I found, like you, that when I got sick that the "sinners" were more concerned about me than some of my friends in the church. I too learned that God uses whoever He wills to minister to us in our needs. Sometimes for their sakes as well as ours..
May God richly bless you and your remaining children and give you joy, peace, love and understanding at this season and all through the years to come.
You can see my short version of my healing testimony on my pages if you wish.
My love and hope I extend to you
Your sister in Christ

Nowadays is very important to show the people the difference between the cults and christianity. Some cults are taking advantage from people who do not have the wisdom of the Lord Jesus. Praise the Lord that He opened the eyes of Debbie's family. It is ve

All I can say about reading your web page is that everyone makes mistakes. I think some people can get too caught up in legalism (through cult like practices). I also believe that if a person becomes ill-- especially if the illness can be treated by a d
ctor (even cancer) that every effort should be made to seek treatment.
I am grieved when I read your page and find that some people at your former church got you all to not seek a doctor's help and care with Debbie but I don't and can't judge the decisions you made.
I hope that even as a result of Debbie's death that you all as a family will become closer than ever and I am really sorry about your loss. I hope that you all will one day find a church that not only teaches the Bible but also beleives in a person getti
g medical help when needed.
God bless you all and I hope that things start looking up for you all as a family! I am really sorry about Debbie's death and I know you are all still in a healing and possibly grieving process because of everything that happened.
No you did not fail your daughter. You did what you thought was the best course of action at the time so noone can really blame you for the decision you made with Debbie at the time!
You can e-mail me back if you would like to as I am interested in the kinds of things you have mentioned in your web page and if you have anyone you need to talk to, feel free to e-mail me at any time!
By the way, I do have a web page of my own but I lost the code to get to it. Just do a search of my web page uder Terri Butler and my web page should come up.
I was a victim of abuse and incest and wrote a book and poems about my experiences and how I was able to cope with it all and eventually heal from it. I would like for you to go to my web page sometime and comment on it and sign my guest book and e-mail
e with any reactions you may have.
Again I lost the code to give to people to get to my web page but just do a search under the name Terri Butler and my web page should come up for you! Please read the book with caution as it has discribtions of the abuse I went through and how I eventual
y healed from it. Please read it and sign my guest book and e-mail me with any comments you have as I want to help as many people as I can who have suffered from the kinds of things I went through. I went to a Christian counselor for 3 years and had and
still have a good support system of friends and that really helps alot plus I have forgiven my parents for everything they have done to cause me harm and feel like a totally new person!
Take care and I look forward to hearing from you again!
I am sorry for your loss of Debbie but you did what you thought was right and noone can really blame you as you did what you thought was in Debbie's best interest.

It is sad that so many so-called "Christian" faiths don't realize that Jesus Himself said, "They that be whole need not a physician." If the whole don't need a physician, then it must be that He was telling us that when they are sick, they do.
I grieve with you in your loss. We lost a child to drowning, which is far more traumatic than when a death is expected, but I know no comfort to you in your loss.
I pray your child knew the Christ of Heaven, and that she and my son, Timothy, have seen each other and rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.

May God continue to shed His mercy and grace on you! I hope that you don't blame yourselves for your loss. God has His purposes. I remember my wake up call vividly...the night I prayed that God would protect my friend from death because he was so needed i

I know my friend is with God and I smile through the tears because of his happiness. And I am so thankful that I learned so much from him in life and in death. We can trust God to know what is best. Remember what Joseph said about his brothers having sold
him into slavery: "although you meant it for harm, God meant it for good!"

Hi,
I am so sorry you lost your daughter and I am incapable of fully empathizing. One thought, however, struck me as I read your courageous page. You belonged to a so-called "Christian" cult which encouraged you not to seek help essentially because you sh
uld trust in God, not in Man. The irony is you never would have failed to seek treatment for your daughter if you had not "trusted in Man"-- in this case the cult leader. In my study of the Bible I've never seen any indication I or my family should not
eek medical care when sick other than possibly a few verses which could be taken out of context. These verses which suggest God is sufficient for everything could, I suppose, also be used to "prove" that I shouldn't take my car to a mechanic or my shoes
o a shoe repair shop. To sum up my thoughts I pray you are not now discouraged or have abandoned your faith in our Lord Jesus. He remains the Way the Truth and the Life. My understanding is that a Christian's practical alternative to trusting in Man is
personal study of the Word of God augmented by works of trusted Bible commentators and wise counsel. From there it is the Spirit of God revealed through prayer which is to provide us critical day-to-day practical answers to life's dilemmas. Anyway, than
you for your site. God Bless You.

The worse came when I came home from a walk ( I too lived in rural Northern CA) witha friend, and found my husband crying in the living room about how sorry he was... My heart sunk, thinking one of the children was dead (he was NEVER sorry) I found my li

e it took until I was hurt from an accident on the job (he would not work regularly, so I had to do so- for 10 years) and had to live at home day in and day out to see the overall ugly tone that our home had. My children and I walked in fear, always see
ing to please him on one hand (his approval was a wonderful thing) and to curse him on the other. Eventually, my slow decline began - we had moved (again) and I could not work, he would not work,... I attempted permanent escape -suicide.
After hospitalization and medication for depression, I began to see my real options much clearer. I served my last restraining order along with divorce papers (we were not under a church at this time and had nto been so for awhile - in the city, they wer
not quite so accepting of him) and within 24 hours - we were free, !
It was not easy after that. my 5 boys were finally able to talk about their fear and anger and I was the only one to blame... I lost one to rebellion and he now lives on his own (quite well) at 17. I met and married the most gentle and loving man whos 2
children played with my 2 youngest. now with 7 , we have a full house! It is not always a quiet one and tempers do flare - but no one is ever in doubt of being loved.
My ex-husband found a church who would support him (he was back on drugs for much of the marriage and I didn't knwo or want to -I guess) It has been over 3 years and they are just now seeing him...
Churches are made up of people and people are capable of mistakes. Doctrines are MAN's ideas on the teachings of Christ. NO MAN HOLDS THE KEYS TO HEAVEN. Praise God you saw that and it saved your remaining children. You sound like loving , caring pare
ts. God bless you - and I am sure he has.
When ever I punish myself too much and let the boys anger get to me, I remember Christ dying for me - for all my sins, and ask myself -wasn't it enough?

rivite experance with the public!!! I honestly believe that God will use this to wake some people up to the true danger of cults and the deception that they spread.

God was smart when he created man. He gave us the "brains" to learn -- we learn from our mistakes, we learned about our bodies (medicine) and we learn from right and wrong. We don't have the ability to tell what the future holds. If we could we wouldn'
need God to be faithful and trusting him to guide us on the right path. Sure we stumble - that proves we are human. Did you stop to think that Debbie's case was to open your eyes to be able to be closer/wiser/smarter with your other children?

WHAT ABOUT JOB HE WAS PERFECT AND UPRIGHT AND LOOK WHAT GOD ALLOWED IN HIS LIFE. WAS GOD UNJUST. YOU PAINT A DIM PICTURE OF GOD. IF DEBBIE WAS GODS SHE IS IN A BETTER PLACE THAN WE WHO MUST STILL STRIVE TO MAKE HEAVEN OUR HOME. UNLESS OF COURSE YOU MAY BE

CAN ANYBODY PRAY AND TRUST GOD? OR DO WE ALL HAVE TO MEET UP WITH THE STATE OFFICIALS IDEAS OF WHAT
SHOULD BE INSTEAD OF WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS. THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE FAITH TO MANY TIMES CONDEMN OTHERS WHO HAVE IT TO JUSTIFY THERE OWN UNGODLY LIFESTYLE. YOU HAVE TAKEN AN ISOLATED CASE AND MADE THE MEN WHO TRUST GOD LOOK EVIL. YOU COULD VERY WELL BE RESPONS

ISN'T THE RESURRECTION GOING TO BE A MIRALCE THE DOCTORS WON'T AND CAN'T PERFORM? I HAVE SEEN MANY HEALINGS FROM GOD...BUT WHEN YOU SEE ONE ISOLATED AND DIFFICULT CASE YOU CONDEMN THE RELIGOUS AS A CULT...WHY DON'T YOU TO THAT TO THE ISOLATED CASES THE DO

Dear Shepherd's,
My wife and I have been Christians for over 20 years. Our two daughters are grown and saved. God has blessed us so abundantly over the years it would take too much time to tell you the whole story. I know people who have escaped from cults and people w
o are still in them. This causes so much pain and grief.
We believe in devine healing, but we have also seen good Christian men and women die of cancer and other sicknesses. We have seen God , through doctors, heal people. We give God the glory ultimately for all healing. If God has given weak, stumbling, im
erfect people the task of spreading the Gospel, we believe He can use other earthen vessels (doctors) in the task of being instruments for healing.
Personally, I don't think that you failed Debbie. I think you have made some bad judgments, but who of us haven't. God is a loving, caring, forgiving God who doesn't give us answers to all of our questions the instant we ask them.
I don't know why God took little Debbie home at such a young age, but I do know this. His ways are above my ways and His thoughts are above my thoughts. We lost a grandson to a premature birth. We grieved like I'm sure you grieved for Debbie. But I be
ieve with all of my heart that I will see Michael and know him when the Lord calls me home.
I'm glad that you are out of that cult and pray that God blesses you richly.
Yours in Christ

Good morning! My heart goes out to the couple who lost their daughter. Thankyou Jesus that they thru their brokenhearts would reach out to help others in you're name. What awesome saints of God!
I've noticed in a lot of mainline churches
lately an increasing amount of strange teachings, and control.
I think all these things are the beginnings of cultish behaviour maybe, some Leadership start out with Godly intentions, but power goes to nourish their ego's and before ya know it the fruit starts to turn very sour. Thus, some turn into a cult, if they
on't repent and increase this behaviour?

II Cor. 1:3-4.
Debbies life purpose was fulfilled and what you are doing here is part of God's intention for you.
Comfort others with the comfort He has given you. You have not failed Debbie - the cult/church failed you. Sometimes there are no easy answers. Here is a sonnet I wrote about a similar spiritual battle...
A Wounded Friend.
I weep for him, my brother and my friend,
Sprawled across the ramparts in this war -
The battle got too hot and in the end
He lay there, blinded, bleeding on the floor.
I try to patch him up - my touch brings pain -
And he resists. Confused, he fights my touch
But knowing he needs help, I try again
For wounds long left untreated fester much.
I long to see him strong and well and whole
But know this wound is far too deep for me,
So ask the great Physician of the soul
To operate and heal and help him see.
No battle is without its casualties;
Our Great Physician knows all remedies.

got sick and we were searching for answers, we got no support, only a trite little comment to "Give it all to God." We are so thankful we kept searching and finally have found a wonderful church where the people show true Christian love for one another.
Once again, thankyou so much for sharing!

I find your site interesting, to say the least. I can empathize, because my eldest son is autistic, with the mind of a 2 year-old. His behaviour can be quite erratic at times, despite the medication he's on, and he can drive you up the wall when he goes o

Well, I know this is off the subject, but I thought you might be interested. In any event, check out my site. It has numerous links to material about various cults and anti-cult ministries. Perhaps you'll find something there of use to you.

I really feel for your family in this situation.
I am sorry you all went through all of this. I don't think situations like this are simple.
You did at the time what you believed was right.
God honors that. I'm not against medicine but
there are times people die even while doing all
that medicine dictates. We don't know why these
things happen but we know they are not the result
of "sin". If that were true, sinful people in
the world would all be sick. I myself suffered
from manic depression which ran in my family. I
suffered most right after getting saved at 18.
I loved the Lord yet suffered horribly. Later
I came to learn about healing, which I did not
know then. I still take medicine. I know Jesus
has healed me. I believe the Word. I know He
loves me. I don't have all the answers but I do
know He loves me unconditionally. We don't earn
healing or anything else. I believe in faith
but it can be over emphasized. It can even produce guilt and shame. I love my brothers and
sisters in Christ yet have suffered from them.
The people in your church probably did not intend
evil. My heart is really with all of you. I
will pray for all of you, and your former church, too. I believe in healing and medicine.
However, even people who do all the "right" things
still lose loved ones at times. God loves all of
you and wants you to have peace in Him. You will
find fellowship that is right for you and support.
Leaving the old people doesn't mean you don't love
them. It means you have needs that perhaps they
don't have. Sometimes our path changes but we
are one body in the Lord and love each other. May
God bless you richly in His love and grace. I'm so sorry this happened to you all. Even great
servants of God have lost children in death.
Examples include TL and Daisy Osborn, who lost two
children, one as a baby (illness) while serving
as missionaries and one as a young adult to suicide/alchohol. Also, Oral Roberts and his wife
lost at least one of their children in a plane
crash. These were people who loved God, prayed,
had faith, and were serving God. Of course, there
are many others. God loves you and I pray He continues to bless you. Thank you
for sharing your story. Lord, bless this dear
family. Bless the church they came out of. Help
all of us to heal and go on with You. Help all
of us to love one another. Help this family
to find support and fellowship and life in You. Amen.
By the way, Annette Capps has some good tapes
on spiritual abuse and these kinds of topics from
a "faith" perspective (non condemning). You can
get a catalog of her items at Charles Capps
Ministries, PO Box 69, England, Ark 72046. They
have a free publication, "Concepts of Faith" and
a catalog of materials. I myself had to leave
faith teaching totally for a few years. If this
is not for you, please forgive me. I don't want
to be insensitive. However, sometimes we search
for whatever is true about something while
discarding the harmful or the excess. Another
good minister is Joyce Meyer, she deals alot
with emotions and is more balanced than some.
You can reach her at (Life in the Word) or at PO Box 655, Fenton, MO 3026. Another good minister who deals more with grace orientation is Malcolm Smith. Sorry I can't find addresses and phone #s now but will try later. I think there is something so priv
te about losing a child that others who havent' gone thru it (including me) can't really fully understand.
But I know God does not want you blaming yourselves for it. You did what you believed
was right. He has forgiven you of anything that
needed to be forgiven. He loves all of you and
is interested in blessing you all and leading you.
It is understandable to have grief and alot of
emotions including denial, anger, depression, etc
over something like this. Add to that the
additional trauma of problems with the church
(people you loved and trusted) and the attempted
guilt of the accuser. I know God did not will
your child to die but these things do happen.
He doesnt want you to blame yourselves and in
fact it was a complex situation. God bless you.
Sorry if what I say is not helpful or is intrusive. I know God's love is unconditional
and is more important than our faith or any thing
we can do or say or believe. Bless you.

Dear Bob and Linda:
I've been to your webpage and saw the picture of your children
You have been truly blessed and I'm really sorry that you lost
your daughter ..
[But it is alarmist!!] I understand what you are saying about the "Faith movement" I was in a Word Church for a time and it also got legalistic. I now believe it is alright to go to a medical doctor, especially when I am not strong enough in some area t
receive from God. I don't get
condemned over it.
At the same time healing is part of the atonement; a part that is for the most part unknown. Jesus does heal. I don't know why you lost your daughter. Job was a righteous man and he lost everything for a time also.... I've also heard of other cases l
ke yours, in fact they have been widely publicized in the secular media.
Do you know for sure that medical doctors could have helped your child? Why is it OK for people to die believing in medical doctors but it's not OK for them to die believing God?
Just wondering ...
Grace and Peace,
Judy

First, I want to thank God for your web page, because I know he can use it to
open other's eyes. With so many different sects and cults claiming Christianity, it is
very hard to decide which are legit, and which are false religions. I pray that after
realizing that your old church involved many teachings that were not of God, that
you have found a church home that shares the Biblical Gospel.
I also pray for all of your families continual growth in y'alls faiths, that your hearts
may find peace and comfort in knowing that our God is a merciful God, daily
giving us His grace.
Please know that there is a difference in people trying to follow God's laws (those
which he gave us in the Bible), and people creating rituals and practices and calling
them of God. During Jesus ministry, before His death and resurrection, He tried so
hard to get people to believe in Him and the Father, rather than the pharisee
perscribed laws, which were not always in accordance with God's will. The Bible
advises us to test everything, because there are false prophets among us.

As a pastor of a AME Church, I have never been one to be "caught" up in religious fanatacism. I have believed, and I preach, that if we allow Jesus Christ to permeate our lives, that, alone will be powerful enough to transform non-believers.
My heart bleeds for the loss of your daughter and my prayers continue for your strength and faith in God through Jesus Christ - NOT through some fanatical interpretation of scripture.
I believe in the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His coming fulfilled the law. It did not destroy it.
Thanks for sharing your story. May the Lord bless and keep you!!!

I can see that this has hurt you deeply. I have lost several family members and friend. I
know that God can heal but often chooses not to. I work with children and adults with
sever disabilities, some of my christian brothers and sisters often see these people as
sinners or as weak. God did this to them for a reason. It is very very common among
Christians to see things this way. I think the worst thing that ever happened to Christianity
was the desire to win. The desire to beat everything and everyone, people will pull verses
out of the air and offer false kindness to people and people die and go crazy. Your
daughter may or may have not lived with early medical intervention as this kind of cancer
is very aggressive. Should you blame yourselves, I don't know. Should you blame the
group you were in it is really hard to say. I think it time to move beyond blame to healing.
The courts and God will affix blame if needed. I wish you the best. You still have several
other children. Dear family tell what happened to any who will listen. Spread it across the
land. I also will suggest talking to Hank Hanagraph though I disagree with him on some
points he does have a way of helping people who have been hurt by extreme groups or
"cults". Brian

You sound alot like my parents - totally self absorbed in Christianity and thinking yourselves holy. I didn't die from my parents abuse - but many days I wish I had. Your daughter can't hate you for killing her, she's rotting in the ground.

Good to warn people of churches that steer you away from doctors and medications...etc because it's true while God does heal some supernaturally others He chooses to use doctors and medicine. It's God given knowledge. I would suggest that it be included s
mewhere on the site that not all churches that believe in healing are cultic so as to not turn some that may be seeking the Lord away thinking that church is not a safe place, because there are many that are biblically based. You may have all ready got th
t some where on the site but I just didn't have a chance to read it yet because I only have access to my computer while at work. God bless and take care! Tammy

Praise The Lord! To God be the Glory for the things He has done!! I was truly blessed by your page. I wish that more parents would take the time out to read it. One thing that I have found in alot of different types of churches is that they try to bring t
e focus onto the church and and the family in that order. What a waste of time. If they took time to really study God's Word (2 Tim.2:15), they will find that God created the family way before the church(Gen.2&3). And any man who will allow the church to
ictate to him on how he is to govern his household(he is the priest of his home) the Word says that he is worst than an infidel. I hope that your family has recovered and since have grown in grace to where you are able to forgive those who was in control.
Email me anytime, until the may the Grace of God stay with you and heaven smile upon you and yours. God loves you and so do I and there's nothing you can do about it but love me back!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS!!!

I totally agree with your conclusion. I have tried to spare folks the grief you went through, but It makes me look unfaithful to people who believe as this group does. God can use "a little wine (medicine) for your stomach's sake." You're on the right tr

I am truly sorry about the loss of your child. We have two daughters, a son, and two grandsons. The death of a son or daughter has to be a deep hurt, and my heart goes out to you. God's grace is so wonderful and overcoming. I suppose such a tradgedy as th
s, you never completely recover, but HIS strength and love keeps picking you up and constantly wipes away the tears and pain. Our God is a healing God in more ways than one. Just keep your eyes upon Jesus, (Heb. 12:2). We get in trouble when we take our e
es off the Lord and put them upon man. God bless you, and mercy from His throne. Pastor Lamar D.

So sad. I would hope you do not lose your faith, in the true God. Your story as well as many others is the reason I still do not attend a church of any organized religion. Yes I have also been caught up in the cultish. And still found certain amounts o
control and manipulation in the vast majority of mainstream denoms., I have tried to attend. They have all even lost the meaning of a simple gift, and of love. I have not heard of a one church/evangelist say ...we are full, we have enough, it's always.
. Oh thank you so much for making us milliionaires.....give us more to hoard,
then to live well above the rest of us , after we have given all, with no recoarse. But to be asked to leave a church when we start asking all the right questions.
And here I thought I have suffered at the hands of the traditions of man. Guess I got off real easy.
You can read my testimony at my lame page. There is more to it than that. Point is I have'nt encountered an organiztion/business yet that follows what I know. The love and compassion of our Lord, that has nothing to do with the twisted
dogmas/big business/separationist/pharasees/self-
servance/celebrityism/God in our pocket stuff of now-a-days.
Thank God I was an atheist, not brought up this way or that. And that by his grace and love alone, I do not have to bow down/fit in at all cost, those traditions of man. Who pervert all they touch.
Wow! did I need to vent or what? My heart and prayers are with you. As is the true Lord I know he is.
Godbless N' heal you,

Cults will abound and draw many people away from a true knowledge of God. I myself for a number of years was involved in a cult, but, unlike your experience it wasn't an off shoot of christianity. Still, deception is deception and I sorrow for your loss.
f you visit my site's pages you will see that I have some strong viewpoints, yet for all that I challenge any that would agree with me too rapidly. Manipulation is sometimes a subtle tool in the hands of the enemy
that can forge chains stronger than steel. The only safe course is to read the word and check all of scriptue to see whether the truth is being told, then to pray for discernment. What can I say? This is a hot issue for me and there isn't enough space to
rite it here. It is my hope that God will meet you and thouroughly heal you from the effects of the ordeal that you and your family have endured. Continue to fight for His cause and may God bless you as you snatch from the enemy souls that he thought were
his.

Dear Shepherd family,
I am sorry it had to take something so drastic for the Lord to deliver you out of the cult "church" you were a part of. But, even in the midst of Debbie's death you have a reason to be thankful...Jesus has proven that he is causing all things to work tog
ther for good...Romans 8:28. My husband and I were once involved in the Word/Faith Movement which teaches that if you're sick or poor it's because you don't have enough faith. The Lord delivered us out of it through the ministry of Hank Hanegraaf. We a
e very thankful! However, we are amazed at the way the Lord has been able to use us in the lives of others because of our experience. I'm sure He's doing the same with you.
In Christ's Love,
Mindy

I am very sorry for your tragic loss. I cannot begin to imagine the distress and anguish over such a loss as a child. Please don't lose your faith in God. He is above description, His love unequaled. When a loss comes to an innocent young child or a dedic
ted christian suffers sickness, pain and even death. I find comfort in believing that maybe God knew that something was in the future of the one who died that might cause them to stumble and lose their soul and maybe that's why he allowed them to leave th
earthly life. That is only my idea. I encourage you to study your Bible, accept it as the only inspired book and the only guide by which to pattern your way of life. Don't put your soul in jepordy by believing in man who can not back up every thing that
e says and show it you, in context, in the Bible. While I believe that the Church of Christ is a Church that patterns itself after the Church for which Jesus died and established on the day of Pentecost, I also know that there are false teachers in congre
tions of the Church of Christ and it is up to you to search the scriptures to find them out. I believe it was Jesus who said Wolves will come to you in sheeps clothing. The Church of Christ is not governed by a national headquarters, or a book of creeds,
or it is it under the direction of any earthly man. It is a Church with many congreations overseen by local "elders" who are in the plural and, in accordance with the instructions in the New Testament. Remember that the we are governed by the New Testemen
dispensation of time and will be until the second comming of Christ. Read, Study, Pray for knowledge and understanding so that you may some day enjoy the same beauty of Heaven that your precious daughter enjoys.
In Christian Love Mike
P.S. I will pray for you and your family.
