Nicky came to live with us in California in May 1998.  He seemed to know from the minute we picked him up at the airport that he was home. Nicky is our first basenji and has taught us many things about living with a basenji, like how much space such a small dog can actually take up in a queen size bed, how a dog can open the refrigerator, and how wonderful it is to curl up and read a book with a basenji to keep your toes warm.

When I talked with Nicky's breeder I told her I wanted a dog that I could try different things with like obedience, lure coursing, agility, maybe even conformation.  Well Nicky has been a great dog and you can just out his Activities Page to see all the things we have tried out together.  We haven't tried out everything but we are still working on it.
