MARTIN NORRAD was born in 1775 in Hilversum, Holland. He went to England at the age of 7 or 8 and then on to New Brunswick as a stowaway on a ship.

Martin married Margaret Ann MacPherson. Her mother was Margaret MacLeod, a sister of Rev. Joseph MacLeod, a baptist minister.

Their son, ROBERT ALEXANDER NORRAD(1801-?), married Margaret McKeil(abt.1816 in Rawden, NS-1902 in Bloomfield Ridge, NB), married in 1829 in Northumberland Co. NB.
