Ridvan
The festival of Ridvan begins at sunset April 20th and concludes
at sunset May 2nd. During this time in 1863 Baha'u'llah announced that
he was the prophet for this age, making 3 of the most holy days of the
Baha'i calendar.
Ridvan also marks the annual election of the Local Spiritual Assemby
members. What kind of people should we vote for when electing a Spiritual
Assembly? According to Shoghi Effendi, "Those who can best combine the
necessary qualities of unquestioned loyalty, of selfless devotion, of a
well-trained mind, of recognized ability and mature experience."
