Hi, I'm Elmer, I am a Red Eared Slider. Here's a picture of me doing what I do the best...biting. I'll bite your finger or some meat, just the same to me. I'm 28 years old. I'm a girl. They never bothered to rename me even after I laid some eggs. I was bought from a Woolworth's in 1972. Baby turtles were no longer sold after 1973 and now there are no more Woolworth's.
I love to eat prepared turtle foods like Reptomin, Pretty Pets and Zoo-med. I adore crickets and mealworms. Occasionally I like to eat chicken or turkey. You should see me trying to eat a grape, it's like you trying to eat a basketball without your hands.
I love to bask on my branch in my tank.
Finally, the humans took a new
picture of me. Is this my better profile? More mature? More new pictures
are coming. Stay tuned.

When I was young, the only schools
were for fish, not turtles, so I didn't learn to read. But if I could,

In association with Amazon.com,
you can order books on turtle care.
Just type in turtles as pets in

I especially like these books.
