Theresa A. (Becker) Godar, age 101, died at 8:35 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Calhoun Care Center in Hardin. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church and the Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary, all in Hardin. Her burial was at St. Norbert's Cemetery in Hardin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Alice Baalman; three sons, Cecil, Romeo and Patrick Godar; five sisters; two brothers; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Hardin, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Hardin,with Father Tom Hagstrom officiating. Burial will be at St. Norbert's Cemetery in Hardin. Memorials may be given to masses, St. Norbert's Church or school or the Calhoun Care Center in Hardin.

He died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis County after a brief illness. His burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fieldon, English Township, Jersey County, IL. He was in the Military Service in the U. S. Air Force and was a World War II Veteran. He married Viola Frances Griffin 4-28-1942. She was the daughter of Wesley Griffin & Anna (Westfall) Griffin. Viola Frances Griffin was born 1-12-1926 in Jersey County, IL, and died 11-11-1985 at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home, Jerseyville, Jersey County, IL. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Fieldon, Women of the Moose and St. Mary Altar Society. She was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL.

(Note: Anna (Westfall) Griffin was my father Walter Edward Westfall's sister and my aunt, and her daughter Viola was my cousin.)

Paul Frederick and Theresa Agnes (Becker) Godar's son Alfred Godar's obituary - Alfred Godar, 84, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis County after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Hardin, son of Paul Frederick and Theresa Agnes (Becker) Godar. He was raised in Hardin and married the former Viola Frances Griffin on April 28, 1942, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Alton. Shortly after their marriage, he entered World War II, serving with an elite bomb squad in Europe with the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and began working at the Western in East Alton for a short time before he and his wife purchased a farm near Fieldon. He remained active in farming for many years and retired shortly after the death of his wife on Nov. 11, 1985. During the same time period, he also served as road commissioner for English Township for 20 years.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dwain and Roberta Godar of Eldred; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Ted Groppel, Theresa and Richard Killion, and Sylvia "Sug" and David Chandler, all of Jerseyville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Geraldine Krause of Kane, Elaine Turner of Alton, Donna Droege of St. Charles, Mo., and Melba Tepen of Hardin; as well as his former wife, Dorothy, and her daughter, Juanita. In addition to his wife, Viola, he was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Manuel, Cecil, Romeo and Patrick Godar; and two sisters, Rosalee Beiermann and Alice Baalman. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recitation at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father William Hembrow as celebrant. He will be buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fieldon with military graveside rites conducted by Jerseyville American Legion Post 492. Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools of Jerseyville or to Masses.

Alfred Godar's wife Viola F. (Griffin) Godar's obituary - Viola F. Godar, 59, died at 2:05 a.m. Monday Nov. 11, 1985 at Greenwood Manor nursing Home in Jerseyville. She was born in Jersey County, a daughter of Anna (Coleman) Griffin of Jerseyville and the late Wesley Griffin. On April 28, 1942, she married Alfred Godar, who survives.

In addition to her mother and husband, surviving are one son, Dwain of Fieldon; three daughters, Wanda Groppel, Theresa Killion and Sylvia Chandler, all of Jerseyville; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Griffin of Washington and Virgil Griffin of Jerseyville; and two sisters. Eunice Kessler of Oregon and Jeneva McClintock of Arizona. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fieldon at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. William Hembrow as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the church where she was a member.

"Ted" Groppel's father Raymond Charles Groppel's obituary - Raymond Charles Groppel, 93, died peacefully at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville. Born in Rosedale on Sept. 28, 1907, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Hettwick Louisa Amelia (Isringhausen) Groppel. Growing up in Rosedale, he farmed in the area as a young man until around 1945 when he opened a grocery/gas business in Rosedale. He and his wife operated the store for a few years before he began his career at Olin Corp. where he worked in the Metallic Manufacturing department, retiring in 1963. He married the former Jewell Susan McAdams on Feb. 28, 1934, in Wood River. They were married 30 years before their marriage ended tragically when she was killed in an accident on Dec. 7, 1964. He later married Adolia (Hagen) Ruyle on April 26, 1981, in Jerseyville. She died July 7, 1994. Surviving are four children and their spouses, Agnes A. and Ralph Cates of Alton, Harold T. "Ted" and Wanda Groppel of Jerseyville, Dr. Stanley and Dr. Carol Groppel of Clarksville, Tenn., and Judy S. and the Rev. John Hartleroad of Metropolis; a stepson and his wife, Donald and Bertha Ruyle and their families of Kankakee; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert H. and Ruth Groppel of Jerseyville; and a sister, Naomi Gilman of Jerseyville. A sister, Edna Groppel and a brother, Edward Groppel, preceded him in death. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Father William Hembrow, assisted by the Rev. John Hartleroad, Groppel's son-in-law, will officiate. He will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Jewell, in the Fieldon Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the National Parkinson Foundation or to the American Diabetes Association.

"Ted" Groppel's mother and his father Raymond Charles Groppel's 1st wife Jewell Susan (McAdams) Groppel's obituary - Jewell Susan Groppel, 50, wife of Raymond Groppel, was dead on arrival at St. Joseph hospital as a result of an accident. She was struck and killed by an auto as she attempted to cross highway 67, in front of her home. Her daughter Judy, 16, who was with her escaped injury. Mrs Groppel had lived at the Godfrey area home for 4 years and prior to that in Jersey county. She was born in Jersey county on September 1, 1914, a daughter of the Late Mr & Mrs Henry McAdams. She was a married in 1934 to Raymond Groppel. Surviving are her husband; 2 daughters, Judy, and Mrs Agnes Cates, Humbert Road; 2 sons, Harold T, Jerseyville and Stanley, at home; 3 sisters, Mrs Maudie Doris, Alton; Mrs Almeda Engel, Greenfield, ND Mrs Velma Sconce, Grafton and 1 brother, Henry Clay McAdams, Otterville. Her parents and 1 sister preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville. Burial in Fieldon cemetery.

Alfred and Viola (Griffin) Godar's daughter Syvia (Godar) Chandler's husband David Chandler's sister Mary E. Chandler's obituary - Mary E. Chandler, 60, formerly of Jerseyville, died at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Alton Sept. 1, 1948, one of four children born to the late John G. and Dorothy (King) Chandler. She graduated from Jersey Community High School and worked in the packing department at Mead Packaging in Godfrey for many years. She later attended nursing school and cared for her parents in their later years. She is survived by her longtime and loving companion, Sandra Baker of Carrollton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Jackie Chandler of Mattoon and David and Sylvia Chandler of Jerseyville; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Sue Chandler of Jerseyville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John R. Chandler, on March 26, 2003. The body was donated to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Hospice of Greene County in care of Crawford Funeral Home, 1308 State Highway 109, Jerseyville IL 62052.

Alfred and Viola (Griffin) Godar's daughter Syvia (Godar) Chandler's husband David Chandler's grandmother Lillie Mae (Hawkins) King's obituary - 28 October 1965: "Mrs. Frank King died Thursday in Jersey hospital" Mrs. Lillie Mae King, wife of Frank King of Jerseyville died Thursday afternoon, 21 October at 3 o'clock at the Jersey Community Hospital where she had been admitted late the previous evening. She had been in ill health for sometime. Friends called at the Gubser Funeral Home and then at the Gospel Assembly Church where final rites were held Monday afternoon, 25 October at 2 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Harry Frazer, officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery. Mrs. King was a daughter of the late James and Viola Davis Hawkins and was born in Jersey county 2 May 1902. Her age at the time of death was sixty-three years, five months and nineteen days. Surviving her in addition to her husband are seven children, Mrs. John Chandler, Robert Ralph King, Mrs. George R. Neikirk and Mrs. Gerald Cates of Jerseyville, William L. and Maurice Eugene King of Brighton and Mrs. Arthur Smith of Godfrey; one brother, Howard Hawkins of Calif.; six sisters, Mrs. Fred Bunzy of Brighton, Michigan; Mrs. Jess Boomer of Oregon, Mrs. Esto Shaw of Jerseyville, Mrs. Ora Beard of Godfrey, Mrs. Henry Dawdy of Aurora, and Mrs. Gilbert Greling of Van Dyke, Mich. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

(2) Paul Frederick and Theresa Agnes (Becker) Godar's son Manuel C. Godar, age 70, died Feb. 21, 2004. He lived in Holly Hill, FL, formerly of Hardin, IL. Survivors: his wife; two daughters; and a granddaughter. Memorial Mass was at St. Norbert's Church, Hardin.

She was born July 11, 1926 near Hardin, the daughter of Paul and Theresa Becker Godar. She married Jerome A. Beiermann on Oct. 7, 1944 in Hardin and he preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 2003. She is survived by two sons, Tom Beiermann and Rick (wife, Donna) Beiermann, both of White Hall; two daughters, Jean (husband, Robert) Taylor of St. Louis and Sharon (husband, Gregory) Becker of Fishers, Indiana; five grandchildren, Anthony Taylor, Jeff (wife, Shannon) Taylor, Scott (wife, Rebecca) Becker, Shawn Becker and Kristen Becker; two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Grace Taylor; one brother, Alfred Godar of Jerseyville and four sisters, Geraldine Krause of Kane; Elaine Turner of Alton; Donna (husband, Jim) Droege of St. Charles, Missouri and Melba (husband, Steve) Tepen of Hardin. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Pat Godar, Romeo Godar, Cecil Godar and Manuel Godar and one sister, Alice Baalman.

Mrs. Beiermann was an LPN, working at Passavant Area Hospital and area nursing homes. She last worked at the White Hall Hospital from where she retired in the early 1980's. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in White Hall and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed playing in canasta clubs. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2005 at All Saints Catholic Church in White Hall with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fieldon. The family will meet friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall with a prayer services at 4:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to All Saints Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Association.

Rosalie (Godar) Beierman's husband Jerome A. Beiermann's obituary - Jerome A. Beiermann, 79, died at 3:52 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at White Hall Multicare Center. He was born Sept. 28, 1923, in Jerseyville to Anthony and Josephine (Goetten) Beiermann. He married the former Rosalie Godar on Oct. 7, 1944, in Hardin. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in White Hall, where he was a lector for many years and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He farmed his land west of Belltown for more than 50 years, assisted on sale days at the Carrollton Livestock Auction for more than 30 years and was a member of the Greene County Farm Bureau. His burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fieldon.

Born August 3, 1927, he was a son of Theresa (Becker) Godar of Hardin and the late Paul Godar. He was a mechanic for Riverway Shipyard and a member of State Street Baptist church services were held at the church with Rev Ron Woodrum officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Betty J (Coonrod) Godar whom he married November 21, 1959 in Fieldon; his mother; 2 sons, Tony and Jim of Jerseyville; 4 daughters, Linda Donnellan, Arnold, MO, Mary Jane Godar, Chicago, Lavora, Barbara and Tabatha Godar, all of Jerseyville; 2 brothers, Alfred, Jerseyville and Manuel, FL; 6 sisters, Rosalee Beierman, White Hall, Melba Tepen, Hardin, Elaine Turner and Alice Baalman, both of Alton, Geraldine Krause, Jerseyville and Donna Droege, St. Charles, MO; and 2 grandchildren. Memorials may be given to State Street Baptist church. Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville conducted arrangements.

Frederick Devening was born at Essen, Germany, April 10, 1834. He landed in New Orleans in 1853, then went to Burlington, IA. From there he went to Silver Creek in Calhoun County, then to Greene County and then to Jersey County in 1871. Frederick Devening, 84, died 7-7-1914 at his home northwest of Fieldon. Rev. Wilson conducted services with burial in Gunterman cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.

He married Mary Rebecca (Thurston) Devening on September 28, 1861. She was the daughter of James and Ann (Collard) Thurston. She was born 4-28-1844 and died 9-24-1928 in Jersey County, IL. Her burial was in Gunterman cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.

He married Agnes Bernice Goshorn born May 4, 1908 in Bluffdale, IL, the daughter of Nicholas & Gertrude (Combes) Goshorn. She died June 22, 1974 at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Her burial was in Gunterman Cemetery in Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. Pearl and Agnes Bernice (Goshorn) Devening had 3 children-Charles Devening, Lena Devening, and Joan Devening.

George and Lena (Weisner) Devening's son Pearl Devening's obituary - Pearl Devening, 61 years, 8 months, 6 days, a farmer of the Fieldon area, was found dead at his home by a neighbor on June 6, 1968. Devening of Fayetteville, NC; 2 daughters, Mrs. Henry Goeman of Fieldon and Mrs. Paul W. Long, of Route 4, Jerseyville, and 10 grandchildren.

He was born March 7, 1917, in English Township, the son of Henry and Dora (Hetzel) Goeman. He married the former Lena G. Devening on Oct. 13, 1940, in Elsberry, Mo. They shared nearly 59 years together before her death on June 7, 1999. He was raised on the same farm he currently resided on and farmed his entire life, as well as operated Goeman Trucking. Agriculture was important to him, as he was a member of the Jersey County Farm Bureau, Jersey County Fair Board for many years, serving as the tractor pull supervisor for 25 years, and an original organizer of the former Fieldon Booster Club.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis Frazer and Bernice and Ronald Guilander, all of Jerseyville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Rhonda and Kerry Hall of Kane, Jeff and Donna Guilander of Jerseyville; five great-grandchildren, Kourtnee, Kurt and Khloee Hall, and Ronnie and Christopher Guilander. In addition to his wife, his parents; a son-in-law, George Frazer; and a sister, Catherine Briggs, preceded him in death. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials may be given to the Fieldon United Church of Christ, where he was a longtime member, or the Jersey County Health Department.

(2) Frederick and Mary (Thurston) Devening's son James W. Devening's obituary - James W. Devening, 80, a farmer of E. Hardin, died August 18, 1951 at Boyd Memorial Hospital, Carrollton. He was born in Jersey County September 23, 1875. He married Hester Mefford 8-24-1891.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Louis Powers of Fieldon, Mrs. Harry Lyles of Jerseyville and Mrs George Henneberg of White Hall, 4 sons, Earl & Percy of Jerseyville and Roy & Ned Devening of Fieldon. After graduating from Jersey Community High School, he married the former Sharon Lane on April 4, 1959, at the Fieldon United Church of Christ, and they shared nearly 46 years together. He retired in 1994 from Laclede Steel, where he had been employed as a wire drawer for 35 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with his buddies in Jerseyville and Roodhouse. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Red Frazier of Jerseyville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy and Catherine Devening of Jerseyville, Scott Devening of Fredericksburg, Va., and Brad Devening of Herrin; six grandchildren, James and Brian Devening, Tiffany and Krystal Devening, Brittany Holmes and Korey Devening; a sister, Deloris Dahn of Jerseyville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a self-employed truck driver for 61 years, served as a school trustee since 1964 and served on the Jerseyville Mutual Insurance board for 21 years. He was a member of Fieldon United Church of Christ since 1926 and Fieldon Masonic Lodge 592. He married Ruby I. Lyles on July 26, 1941, in Elsberry, Mo. She died in August 1994. He and Katherine Bruns-Booth were married on Jan. 24, 1997, in Roxana. She survives.

Also surviving are five sons and four daughters-in-law, Maurice B. "MB" and Karen Williams of Carrollton, Merle L. Formerly of the Fieldon area, he began working on the family farm near Fieldon, where he worked for many years before retiring and moving to Jerseyville. Kenneth L. Powers's wife Willrene B. "Billie" (Moore) Powers"s obituary - Willrene B. "Billie" Powers, 81, died unexpectedly at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville after suffering an apparent brain aneurysm. She was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Jacksonville, Fla., the daughter of Charles R. and Marguerite (Soder) Moore. She grew up in Jacksonville, Fla., and it was there that she met her future husband, Kenneth L. Powers, who was stationed with the U.S. Navy. They married on March 22, 1945, and he soon brought the city girl to Fieldon, where they established a home in the Fieldon bottoms where they farmed and raised their family of three children. They spent many happy years on the farm until moving to Jerseyville in 1992. They enjoyed 10 years in town together before he died Oct. 30, 2003. She was a loyal and active member of the Fieldon United Church of Christ for 63 years, as well as a 51-year member of the Jersey County Home Extension, where she served as secretary. In her younger years, she served as a 4-H leader for her children's groups and enjoyed utilizing her creative side, whether it was painting, flower arranging or gardening. She enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband and friends and was a consistent St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Surviving are a son, Lewis Powers of Jerseyville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Morrison of Taylorville and Rebecca and Clyde Anderson of Richmond; six grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Angie Morrison, Benjamin and Sarah Morrison and Steven and Mindy Morrison, all of Taylorville, Kristen Anderson of Carol Stream, Erika Anderson, a student at the University of Illinois at Champaign, and Stan Anderson, a student at Illinois State University at Normal; five great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Kendall and Gladys Moore of Virginia. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Holloway and Carolyn Coristin; and a son-in-law, George Morrison. He was born Jan. 14, 1931, in Fieldon, the last of six children born to the late Lewis Charles and Goldie Marie (Devening) Powers. He grew up on the family farm in the bottoms of Fieldon and continued to farm his entire life, working briefly for Capri Sun in Granite City. After retirement, he continued to "hobby" farm south of Carrollton. He graduated from Jersey Township High School and was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Eldred American Legion and Jerseyville Elks Lodge 954. He enjoyed the many trips he took with his best friend, Bill Kadell, "touring" the tri-county area.

He is survived by his fiancee, Virginia "Pinky" Wagner of Carrollton; his children and their spouses, Connie and Roger Adcock of Kampsville and Marsha and Rick Zipprich, Sandy and Tom Sawyer and Mark and Cindy Wagner, all of Fieldon; 14 grandchildren, Charlie, Amy, Josh, Mary Beth, Mitchell, Amanda, Amy, Edwards, Erinn, Matt, Justin, Marissa, Luke and Jacob; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was born in Hardin on April 27, 1934, one of three children born to the late Ernest and Rose M. (Schleeper) Thompson. As a young girl, she attended grade school in Hardin and graduated from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville. A resident of Hardin for many years, she retired from Calhoun County Ford and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, both in Hardin. She was a very active and social person and she always enjoyed being on the go. She loved spending time with family and friends and, in her quiet times, enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting.

She was formerly married to Charles Powers and surviving are their three daughters and their husbands, Connie and Rick Adcock of Kampsville and Marsha and Rick Zippich and Sandy and Tom Sawyer, all of Fieldon; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Kay Thompson of Jerseyville; and a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Barry Ritter of Jerseyville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be at St. Norbert's Cemetery in Hardin. Memorials may be made to St. Norbert's Catholic School or to the Auxiliary House at St. Louis University Hospital.

For 44 years, Hazel was employed as the hotel manager at the Old Colonial Inn in Jerseyville, retiring in 1989 at the age of 76. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville.

She is survived by her only daughter, Doris McDanel of Jerseyville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Marcia and Bob McAninch of Godfrey and Greg and Pattie McDanel of Jerseyville; three great-grandchildren, Joshua McDanel, Brady and Mack McAninch, and some very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Mark McDanel, on March 23, 2001; and a sister, Enid Crotchett. Upon the selling of both businesses, Mark purchased the Wood River Dairy Queen, which he operated for 17 years, making significant improvements during that time.

He married the former Doris Devening on March 10, 1956 in Alton, and she survives. Mark is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Pattie McDanel of Jerseyville; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Bob McAninch of Godfrey; three grandchildren, Joshua McDanel, Brady and Mack McAninch; his mother-in-law, Hazel Devening of Jerseyville; and a sister-in-law and her family, Betty McDanel of Florissant, Mo. His only brother, William R. McDanel Jr., and his father-in-law, Percy Devening, have preceded him in death. (9) Frederick and Mary (Thurston) Devening's son Edward Devening was born 10-9-1884 in Jersey County, IL. He died 5-20-1906. He was buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.
