She lived with my grandfather Jasper Mifflin Westfall and grandmother Frances (McCaulley) Westfall (her stepmother), and with my father and his other brothers and sisters growing up on their farm near Fieldon IL. She was born 1-10-1892 near Reedy, Roane County, West Virginia. She died 11-23-1978 in Alton, IL. She is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL.

Michael Thomas Haag's wife Eva May (Westfall) Haag's obituary - The funeral of Mrs. Eva May Haag, 85, of 212 Ferguson, Jersyville was conducted Saturday afternoon at Jacoby Bros. Funeral Home by the Rev. Carl J. Cook of Alton. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. She died at 3:30 a.m. Nov. 23, 1978 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton. She was born in West Virginia Jan. 10, 1893, a daughter of Jasper and Mary Jane Shannon Westfall. Her husband, Michael T. Haag, died Jan. 20, 1956.

She is survived by a son, Michael Haag, Jerseyville; a daughter, Dorothy Michael, Alton; two half brothers, Floyd Westfall of Medora and Jasper Westfall of Alton; a half sister, Anne Coleman, Jerseyville; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, and two half brothers, a half sister and four sisters.

(1) Michael and Eva (Westfall) Haag's daughter Dorothy Stella Haag was born 10-10-1918. She married Lawrence Michael born 2-4-1915, the son of Michael and Nora (Lawliss) Michael. They had one daughter, Geraldine Michael born 3-19-1937. She married Larry Hartley born 1-5-1936, the son of Alvin and Irene Hartley. They had a son David Hartley born 9-18-1959. He now lives near Chicago, IL. Geraldine later married Frank Kovarik and they live in Grafton, IL.

(2) Michael and Eva (Westfall) Haag's daughter Winnifred Kitty Haag was born 11-26-1923. She is deceased. She married Arthur Herbstreit born 10-20-1916, the son of Julius and Henrietta Herbstreit. They had one son Carl Arthur Herbstreit born 3-4-1946.

(3) Michael and Eva (Westfall) Haag's son Michael Thomas Haag Jr. born 10-19-1930 married Donna Collins born 9-24-1933, the daughter of Alvin and Ruth (Oliver) Collins. They had 3 children-Phyllis June Haag born, 6-19-1951, Steven Eugene Haag born 7-16-1953 married Deborah Dunham the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Devening) Dunham, and Byron Lee Haag born 7-19-1971.

Michael Thomas Haag Jr.'s wife Donna (Collins) Haag's mother Ruth Alma (Oliver) Collins Bartlett's obituary - Funeral services were held Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville for Ruth Alma Bartlett. Mrs. Bartlett, 98, died December 6 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 26, 1910 in Witt, the daughter of the late Howard and Elsie (Kline) Oliver. She married Alvin Collins in 1928. She later married Charles Bartlett in 1950; he died in 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Michael) Haag of Jerseyville; two step daughters; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 19 stepgreat-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the Fieldon United Church of Christ.

(4) Michael and Eva (Westfall) Haag's daughter Mary Elizabeth Haag died in infancy 12-26-1926. She is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL.

Adolph Maxwell DeBoard

Adolph Maxwell DeBoard was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Norris City, Ill., to Charles and Ethel (Hughy) DeBoard. He died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL. He married the former Pearl Morris on May 10, 1938, in Kentucky.

Adolph Maxwell DeBoard's obituary - Adolph Maxwell DeBoard, 87, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Norris City, Ill., to Charles and Ethel (Hughy) DeBoard. He married the former Pearl Morris on May 10, 1938, in Kentucky, and they had recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. He was employed with Shell Oil Refinery as an operating engineer for 37 years, retiring in 1977. He served his country in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Russ Thompson of Rosewood Heights and Sherrell and Frank Ulett of Godfrey; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sheryl DeBoard of Fairbanks, Alaska; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. The family will hold private services at a later date. Memorials may be made to BJC Hospice. Elias-Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bethalto is entrusted with professional services.

(1) Adolph and Pearl (Morris) DeBoard's daughter Lois DeBoard was born 12-12-1939. She married Russell Edward Thompson, the son of Russell Oliver Thompson and the former Mildred Westfall. Russell Edward Thompson was born 8-22-1937 near Fieldon, Jersey County, IL. Russell Edward Thompson's father Russell Oliver Thompson was born Sept. 18, 1919, in Jersey County, IL, the son of Logan and Viola (Bowers) Thompson. He died Dec. 15, 2004, age 85, in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, IL. He is buried at Kane Cemetery, Greene County, IL. Russell Edward Thompson's mother, the former Mildred Marie Westfall, is the daughter of Walter Edward Westfall and Lovie (Kraushaar) Westfall. She was born 4-20-1922 in Alton, Madison County, IL.

Russell and his wife Lois live in East Alton, IL. He is a retired plummer. He worked as a plummer in the Alton, Wood River, and Edwardsville, IL area before his retirement.

(Note: Russell Edward Thompson is my nephew, the son of my sister, the former Mildred Westfall who is the daughter of my parents Walter Edward Westfall and Lovie (Kraushaar) Westfall.)

Michael and Terri (Thompson) Harvey's son Nicholas James Harvey married Rhianon Ranelle Sharp 7-7-2007 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harrell Sharp.

Eugene and Mary (Siddens) Doolen of Rosewood Heights, IL, and they had a daughter Jenna Doolen born 9-17-1987 in Alton, Madison County, IL. Melanie's second husband is David Moore the son of Virgil and Dorothy (Collier) Moore of Belleville, IL, and they have a son Tyler Jordan Moore born 10-2-1993 in Alton, Madison County, IL.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband: Virgil D. Moore of Belleville, IL., whom she married October 30, 1953, her daughter: Vicki (Don) Pellmann of Belleville, IL., her son: David (Melanie) Moore of Godfrey, IL., her grandchildren: Michael (Jamie Beal), Matthew & Annie Dulle, Laura (Joe) Brandt, Mariella & Lukas Pellmann, Tyler Moore, and Jenna Doolen, her brother: Ralph Leroy (Janelle) Collier of Yorkville, IL., she is also survived by nieces, nephews,cousins, other relatives & friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Trame adn his staff as well as Hospice of Southern Illinois' staff for their care. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, counted cross stitch, bowling, and ceramics. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Melanie's first husband and Jenna's father Dale Wayne Doolen's father - E. Eugene Doolen, 71, of Rosewood Heights, died Nov. 6, 2000, in Alton Memorial Hospital. He married Mary Siddens, who survives. Also surviving are sons, Terry of Bethalto, and Dale of East Alton; a daughter, Genia Ruckman of Rosewood Heights; and a sister, Vivian Collier of Shobonier. Services were in Gent Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.

She was married first to a man who's surname was Heacox, and they had a daughter Alexis Heacox born 9-2-1987 in Alton, Madison County, IL. Lesley's second husband was Alan Kolesa and they have a daughter Lily Kolesa born 4-20-2000 in East Alton, Madison County, IL.

Lois DeBoard's husband Russell Edward Thompson's mother, the former Mildred Westfall, after divorcing Russell's father Russell Oliver Thompson, later married Joseph V. Alben born 2-18-1912 in Alton, Madison County, IL, and died 2-17-2000 in Alton, Madison County, IL. They got married 11-11-1944 in Alton, Madison County, IL. Joe passed away Feb. 17, 2000 just one day before his 88th birthday. He was the son of John and Lucia (Virgo) Alben. He retired from working at a steel mill in Alton, IL.

(2) Adolph and Pearl (Morris) DeBoard's daughter Sherrell DeBoard is married to Frank Ulett and they live in Godfrey, IL. Sherrell had been married previously and had a daughter Amanda.

(3) Adolph and Pearl (Morris) DeBoard's son Mark DeBoard is married to Sheryl and they live in Fairbanks, Alaska. They have 3 children.

Pearl (Morris) DeBoard's brother Clifford Beanum "Cliff" Morris's obituary - Clifford Beanum "Cliff" Morris, 75, of Sikeston died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at his home. He was born July 12, 1926, in Mississippi County, son of Clifford Keasler and Eva May Justice Morris. He and Carol Maxine White were married May 20, 1950, at Chaffee, Mo. Mr. Morris was an agent with State Farm Insurance 35 years. He was selected in the mid-1970s to represent State Farm as its featured agent in its national magazine advertising campaign. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sikeston Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Elks, Eagles, and a 50-year Mason. He moved to Sikeston in 1950 from Ridgway, Ill. He was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Clifford B. and Christine Morris Jr. of Eldorado, Ill., Kenneth Lee and Charlotte Morris of St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Dan Kelleher of Boerne, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edgar and Margaret Morris of Mobile, Ala., Dr. David and Nannette Morris of Sikeston. Also surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Orville Lankford of Memphis, Tenn., Pearl and Adolph DeBoard of Wood River, Ill., six grandchildren, Clifford III "Kip" Morris of San Francisco, Calif., Tiffany Morris of Overland Park, Kan., Bethany Morris of Eldorado, Blaine (Sherri) Morris of Austin, Texas, Valerie and Marshall Morris of St. Charles. He was preceded in death by a brother, R.L. Morris of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Carrie Raben of Ridgway and Opal Nicholson of Memphis, Tenn. Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. William F. Koch and the Rev. Sandy Schaller will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be LeRoy Heaton, Percy Clippard, Donald Wall, Eugene Morris and Earl Hutchison. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or First United Methodist Church of Sikeston.
