Perry Westfall was born in 5-31-1840 in Lewis County, West Virginia, the son of My great great grandparents Jacob C. Westfall (1797-1860) and Elizabeth (Smith) Westfall born (1799-?). They had 12 children--my great grandfather Emanuel B. Westfall, Asbury P. Westfall, Granville Westfall, William Westfall, Perry Westfall, Merinda Westfall, Catherine Westfall, Martha Westfall, John C. Westfall, and 3 other sons names unknown.
Perry Westfall died 8-19-1907 in Roane County, West Virginia. He married Elizabeth Betsy Reynolds born 1-8-1842, the daughter of William and Mary (Wolfe) Reynolds. She died 11-20-1926 in Roane County, West Virginia. They had 12 children-Randolph Jackson (Dolph) Westfall, Artimassa (Tim) Westfall, Preston Westall, Albert Westfall, Howard Westfall, William Westfall, Lona Dove Westfall, Mary Jane Westfall, Fred Westfall, Tilda Westfall, Lorie Westfall, and last baby stillborn.

Allen Shannon was born 5-30-1881 in Verdigris Township, Wilson County, Kansas. He died 12-29-1952 Toronto, Woodson County, Kansas. He was the son of Abraham Shannon (1830-1903), and Amanda (Elban) Shannon (1840-1896). Abraham and Amanda (Elban) Shannon had 10 children-Willam Elban Shannon born in 1857, Mary Jane Shannon (1859-1940)-the first wife of my grandfather Jasper Mifflin Westfall), Jesse Alvan Shannon (1863-1948), Martha Ellen Shannon born in 1866, James Shannon born in 1868, Margaret Anne Shannon born in 1873, Oscar Shannon (1875-1892), Eva Shannon born 1877, and their youngest son Allen Shannon (1881-1952) who married Perry and Elizabeth (Reynolds) Westfall's daughter Lona Dove Westfall. They had 3 children-Kimberley Shores born 11-5-1961 Manhatten, Kansas, married Glenn Brownlee, and they have a daughter Hannah Brownlee; Bradley Shores born 3-5-1963, married Tammy (maiden name unknown; and Cheryl Shores born 7-2-1969 Topeka, Kansas, married David (last name unknown), and they have a son. Catherine Westfall I received this information from Jackie Jones who saw my website on the internet and emailed me a message saying her ancestor Catherine Westfall was a sister of my great grandfather Emanuel Westfall. Jackie Jones's great great great grandmother Catherine Westfall was born in 1820-1825, the daughter of my great great grandfather Jacob C. Westfall. She married John Jack in 1841. They had a son Salathiel Jack (Jackie Jones's Great Great grandfather). Salathiel Jack was a soldier of the Confederacy in the Civil War. In 1862 his father John Jack died and he left the army to go home and help get game to eat for his mother Catherine who had nothing to eat for her and her family. He said his army tour of duty was up, but shortly after he came home he was captured by soldiers and charged with desertion. He was sent to prison at Camp Chase near Columbus, Ohio. Later his family had to go post bond to get him probation. Salathiel Jack (1842-1886) was the son of John and Catherine (Westfall) Jack. He married Mary Jane Nichols in 1867. She was born in 1838 and died in 1882 Roane County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of J.N. and Nancy Nichols. Salathiel and Mary Jane (Nichols) Jack's son Lorenzo Jack (1869-1923) married Susan Luverna Greathouse Longfellow (1871-1897). Lorenzo and Susan (Longfellow) Jack's son Cecil Jack (1896-1950) married Zetta Ann Arthur (1898-1987) in 1914. Their daughter Cleo Evelyn Jack (1920-1996) married Muss Ross (1913-1997) in 1938. Muss and Cleo Evelyn (Jack) Ross's daughter Elva Mae (Jackie) Ross born in 1939 who is married to William Jones is the person who gave me information about her ancestor Catherine Westfall and her family. ******************************** Catherine Westfall was born in 1820-1825, the daughter of my great great grandfather Jacob C. Westfall and Elizabeth (Smith) Westfall. Catherine Westfall married John J. Jack 5-13-1841. John Jack was born 1815 or 1816. He died in 1862 in Roane County, West Virginia. John and Catherine (Westfall) Jack had 7 children-Salathiel Jack, Mary Jack, Sarah Jack, Jacob Jack, Thomas Jack, John Jack, and Perry Jack.

He married Mary Jane Nichols in 1867, She was born in Aug. 1838, the daughter of J. N. Nichols and Nancy Nichols. She died 7-1-1882 in Roane County, West Virginia. Salathiel and Mary Jane (Nichols) Jack had 6 children-Lorenzo Jack, Leodocia Jack, Luther Jack, Theodocia Jack, Salathiel Jack Jr., and Artie Gay Jack. ----------------- (1a) Salathiel and Mary Jane (Nichols) Jack's son Lorenzo Dow Jack was born in 1869. He died in 1923. He married in 1893 Susan Luverna Greathouse Longfellow born in 1871. Susan died in 1897, 9 months after the birth of her son Cecil Jack, and Lorenzo Jack later married his 2nd wife Nancy Ellen Cremeans. Lorenzo and Susan (Longfellow) Jack's son Clarence Cecil Jack (1896-1950) married Zetta Ann Arthur (1898-1987) in 1914, the daughter of Thomas Arthur (1861-1915) and Maude (Adkins) Arthur (1874-1947). Their daughter Cleo Evelyn Jack (1920-1996) married Muss Ross (1913-1997) in 1938, the son of Taylor and Rebecca (Powers) Ross. Survivors include one daughter Sherry Salyers; one son Jerry Kitchen; one brother, Bill Ross; one sister and brother-in-law, Glenna and Jack Young; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Betsey Jones. Elva Mae was a member of the Wayne County Genealogical and Historical Society. Burial October 28, 2000, in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Wayne County, W. Va.
