Mary Caroline Schaaf

Mary Caroline Schaaf was a daughter of Charles and Christina (Youngblood) Schaaf. She was born in 1871 in Jersey County, IL. She died in 1938 in Jersey County, IL. She is buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. She married Leroy Medford 6-25-1892. Leroy and Mary Caroline (Schaaf) Medford had 3 children-Herschel Medford, Edith Mae Medford, and Beman Medford.

(1) Leroy and Mary Caroline (Schaaf) Medford's son Herschel Lee Medford died 05-14-1982 - Democrat News, May 18, 1982: Herschel Lee Medford, 83, of Fieldon died may 14 at Jersey hospital. Funeral from Gubser home. Rev. Robert Broeder. Burial Guntermann cemetery Near Fieldon. Owned and operated service station and farmed. Born September 25, 1898 near Fieldon, son of Roy and Mary Schaaf Medford. Leaves wife, former Lida Morrison, whom he married October 6, 1921 in Jerseyville. One Daughter, Doris Spangle of Tucson, Arizona, seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

(2) Leroy and Mary Caroline (Schaaf) Medford's daughter Edith Mae (Medford) Thompson died 06-1926 - Mrs. Edith Thompson, 33, mother of 4 children, died at home near Fieldon from dropsy. She was the daughter of Leroy and Mrs. (Medford) born in Fieldon vicinity. In 1914, she graduated from JTHS. She had been a member of the Royal Neighbors. She leaves her husband, Wm. Thompson; 3 Daughters, Dorothy Lucille, Ureta Grace, and Opal Irene; 1 son Herschel Leroy,; and 2 brothers, Herschel and Beeman, living near Fieldon. Rev. Jos. Jenkins officiated at the service, held from her home, with burial in Gunterman cemetery.

Edith Mae (Medford) Thompson's husband William "Bill" Thompson died 07-16-1981 - Services for William "Bill" Thompson, 89, of Kane were held Saturday am at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with Revs. Jack Brown and Peter Ely officiating burial was in Kane cemetery. He died at 5:40 am July 16 at his residence. Born in Greene County, he was a son of the late C. K. & Elizabeth Thompson and was a retired employee from the former International Shoe Company plant in Jerseyville.

His survivors are his wife, the former Marguerite (Krohn) whom he married December 11, 1970, in Kane; 3 Daughters, Dorothy Long of Edwardsville, Grace Bond of Bunkerhill and Opal Robinson of Alton; 10 grandchildren; 18 g-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Ida Nelson of Hartford. The Kane Baptist church where he was a member has been named as a memorial.

(3) Leroy and Mary Caroline (Schaaf) Medford's son Beman Medford was born in 1895 in Jersey County, IL. He died in 1962 in Jersey County, Il. He is buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Anna May Cooper. Beman Medford's wife - Died 00-00-1972. Funeral services for Mrs. Anna May Medford of Fieldon were held at one-thirty o/clock Sunday at the Jacoby Brothers Funeral home. Rev. Leonard Todd of Moro officiated and burial was in the Gunterman cemetery.

The death of Mrs. Medford, widow of Beman Medford, occurred at two forty-five pm Thursday at Greenlawn Nursing Home just thirteen days after her eighty first birthday anniversary. Mrs. Medford, a lifelong resident of Jersey County, was a daughter of the late John and Rose Weeks Cooper. Her survivors are one sister, Bertha Cooper of Fieldon, one brother, Robert Cooper of Jerseyville, and nieces and nephews.

Pauline Schaaf

Pauline Schaaf was a daughter of Charles and Christina (Youngblood) Schaaf. She was born in 1867 in Jersey County, IL. She died in 1899 in Jersey County, IL. She is buried in Grimes-Neely Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL. She married James Douglas Powers 1-26-1885 in Jersey County, IL. He was a son of Lawrence and Rebecca (Neely) Powers. He was born 8-3-1858 and died 10-13-1934. He is buried in Grimes-Neely Cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL.

James and Pauline (Schaaf) Powers had 5 children-John Neely Powers, Lewis C. Powers, James Douglas Powers, Andrew Powers, and Georgia E. Powers.

(1) James and Pauline (Schaaf) Powers's son John Neely Powers - Jerseyville Republican Newspaper, dated Oct. 17, 1918, John Neely Powers died Sunday morning at Camp Custer, Mich., of influenza. He was a son of James D. Powers, Jerseyville, and left for camp September 15th. The body was brought to Jerseyville Tuesday noon where the funeral was held wednesday at 2 p.m. at the residence of Loren Erwin. Deceased is survived by his father, sister, Mrs. Loren erwin, three brothers, Andrew, James and Lewis, and aunt, Mrs. James Dunphy.

(2) James and Pauline (Schaaf) Powers's son Lewis C. Powers died 15 May 1980: Services for Lewis C. Powers, 82, a farmer of rural Fieldon were conducted Thursday afternoon at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Broeder officiating. Burial was in Grimes cemetery. He died at 5:30 pm 12 May at Jersey Community Hospital.

He was born 12 June 1897 in Jersey County, a son of James D. and Pauline Schaaf Powers. His wife, the former Goldie Devening, died 19 November 1973. He is survived by four Sons, A. L."Jack" Powers, Kenneth and John, all of Fieldon and Charles of Hardin; one daughter, Pauline Martin of Jerseyville; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. His parents, wife, one son, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death. The American Cancer Society was named as a memorial.

Lewis C. Powers's wife - Goldie Marie (Devening) Powers died 22 November 1973: Funeral rites for Mrs. Goldie Marie Powers, 72, of R. R. 1, Fieldon were held 21 November at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home with interment in Grimes cemetery. Her death occurred unexpectedly at her home at 9:45 am on 19 nov. Rev. Leonard Todd officiated. She was born 16 January 1901 in Greene County, the daughter of James and Hester Mefford Devening.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis C. Powers; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Pauline) Martin of Jerseyville; four Sons, A. L. Powers, Kenneth Powers, John Powers and Charles Powers, all of Fieldon; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one Brother, Ned Devening of Fieldon; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Lyles and Mrs. George Henneberg of Jerseyville. She was preceded in death by one son, James L. Powers, and three brothers, Earl, Roy and Percy Devening.

(1a) Lewis and Goldie (Devening) Powers's son - Andrew Lawrence "Jack" Powers, 70, died unexpectedly at 8:48am Thursday, 2 May 1991 at home. He was a self-employed grain farmer for 25 years, and retired in 1984 from the maintenance department at Olin Brass Mill in East Alton. Memberships included the Jerseyville Elks and Moose Lodges. Born in Jerseyville on 30 January 1921 he was the son of the late Lewis and Goldie (Devening) Powers. He married the former Catherine M. "Kit" Powderly on 4 December 1940 in Elsberry, Missouri, and she died on 6 June 1985.

Surviving are two daughters, Catherine M. Webster of Hamburg and Mary M. Bennett of Kirkwood, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Martin of Jerseyville; and three brothers, Kenneth and John Powers, both of Fieldon, and Charles Powers of Hardin. A brother, James Lewis Powers, preceded him in death. Visitation wass from 4 to 9 pm at Jacoby-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services were at 10 am Saturday. Burial was in Grimes-Neely cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American heart association.

(2a) Lewis and Goldie (Devening) Powers's son Kenneth L. "Kenny" Powers, 81, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Fieldon to Lewis Charles and Goldie Marie (Devening) Powers. He married the former Willrene "Billie" Moore on March 22, 1945, in Jacksonville, Fla. She survives. A 1940 graduate of Jersey Township High School, he served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Formerly of the Fieldon area, he began working on the family farm near Fieldon, where he worked for many years before retiring and moving to Jerseyville. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and was a loyal member of the Fieldon United Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Lewis L. Powers of Jerseyville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Beverly Morrison of Taylorville, Ill., and Rebecca and Clyde Anderson of Richmond, Ill.; six grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Angie, Benjamin and his wife, Sarah, Steven Morrison and Kristen, Erika and Stanley Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Reagan, Emily and Owen Morrison; and one brother, Charles Powers of Carrollton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pauline Martin; three brothers, James Lewis Powers, Andrew "Jack" Powers and John Powers; and a son-in-law, George Morrison.

Visitation was from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Crawford Funeral Home (Jacoby Chapel) in Jerseyville. Visitation resumed from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fieldon United Church of Christ. Dr. Donald Burkhalter officiated. Burial was at Grimes Cemetery in Jerseyville, with military graveside services provided by the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492 and VFW Post 4528. Memorials may be given to the Fieldon United Church of Christ.

Kenneth L. Powers's wife Willrene B. "Billie" (Moore) Powers"s obituary - Willrene B. "Billie" Powers, 81, died unexpectedly at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville after suffering an apparent brain aneurysm. She was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Jacksonville, Fla., the daughter of Charles R. and Marguerite (Soder) Moore. She grew up in Jacksonville, Fla., and it was there that she met her future husband, Kenneth L. Powers, who was stationed with the U.S. Navy. They married on March 22, 1945, and he soon brought the city girl to Fieldon, where they established a home in the Fieldon bottoms where they farmed and raised their family of three children. They spent many happy years on the farm until moving to Jerseyville in 1992. They enjoyed 10 years in town together before he died Oct. 30, 2003. She was a loyal and active member of the Fieldon United Church of Christ for 63 years, as well as a 51-year member of the Jersey County Home Extension, where she served as secretary. In her younger years, she served as a 4-H leader for her children's groups and enjoyed utilizing her creative side, whether it was painting, flower arranging or gardening. She enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband and friends and was a consistent St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Surviving are a son, Lewis Powers of Jerseyville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Morrison of Taylorville and Rebecca and Clyde Anderson of Richmond; six grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Angie Morrison, Benjamin and Sarah Morrison and Steven and Mindy Morrison, all of Taylorville, Kristen Anderson of Carol Stream, Erika Anderson, a student at the University of Illinois at Champaign, and Stan Anderson, a student at Illinois State University at Normal; five great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Kendall and Gladys Moore of Virginia. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Holloway and Carolyn Coristin; and a son-in-law, George Morrison. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, and will continue from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Fieldon United Church of Christ. The Rev. Barbara Alley will officiate. Burial will be at Grimes-Neeley Cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials may be made to the church or cemetery.

(3a) Lewis and Goldie (Devening) Powers's son Charles Powers's wife Helen Marie (Thompson) Powers's obituary - Helen Marie Powers, 73, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at St. Louis University Hospital. She was born in Hardin on April 27, 1934, one of three children born to the late Ernest and Rose M. (Schleeper) Thompson. As a young girl, she attended grade school in Hardin and graduated from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville. A resident of Hardin for many years, she retired from Calhoun County Ford and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, both in Hardin. She was a very active and social person and she always enjoyed being on the go. She loved spending time with family and friends and, in her quiet times, enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting.

She was formerly married to Charles Powers and surviving are their three daughters and their husbands, Connie and Rick Adcock of Kampsville and Marsha and Rick Zippich and Sandy and Tom Sawyer, all of Fieldon; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Kay Thompson of Jerseyville; and a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Barry Ritter of Jerseyville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be at St. Norbert's Cemetery in Hardin. Memorials may be made to St. Norbert's Catholic School or to the Auxiliary House at St. Louis University Hospital.

(3) James and Pauline (Schaaf) Powers's son - James Douglas Powers died 25 May 1967: James Douglas Powers of 404 Lincoln Ave., Jerseyville, died at seven fifty-one o'clock Thursday night at Barnes hospital in St. Louis where he had been a patient for ten days. Visitation hours were held at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home where services were held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. Carlton Christenson, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiated and burial was in Grimes cemetery. Mr. Powers was born in Jersey County, 3 January 1890, a son of the late James D. and Pauline Schaaf Powers. He had been an employee of the cast shop at Olin-Mathieson Corp.

His survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Walter Jay of Jennings, Missouri; Mrs. Edna Mae Strebel and Mrs. Natalie Springman of Jerseyville; two sons, Rmc Richard L. Powers of the US Navy, stationed at San Diego, Calif, and Arthur D. Powers of Otterville; one brother, Lewis Powers of Fieldon; sixteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. His parents, his wife, and one son, Herschel, preceded him in death.

(4) James and Pauline (Schaaf) Powers's had a son Andrew Powers. I don't have any information about their son Andrew Powers.

(5) James and Pauline (Schaaf) Powers's daughter Georgia E. Powers was born 8-17-1885 in Jersey County, IL. She died 2-3-1958 in Jersey County, IL. Her burial was in Grimes-Neely cemetery, English Township, Jersey County, IL. She married Lorin E. Erwin. He was born in 1882 and died in 1967. His burial was in Grimes-Neely cemetery.

Frank Schaaf

Frank Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. He married Tina Elizabeth Young 12-24-1904. Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf had 8 children-Raymond Schaaf, Cora Schaaf, Mark Schaaf, Russell Schaaf, Lawrence Schaaf, Thelma Schaaf, Bertha Schaaf, and Emma Schaaf.

(1) Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf's son Raymond Schaaf was born in 1913 in Jersey County, IL. He died 3-13-1956 in a farm accident in Jersey County, IL. He is buried in Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Rowena M. Dahn 9-18-1944 in Jersey County, IL. Raymond and Rowena (Dahn) Schaaf had 2 children-Kenny Schaaf and Helen Schaaf.

Raymond and Rowena (Dahn) Schaaf's son - Kenny Schaaf, 54, died unexpectedly at 11:21 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at home. He was born Oct. 6, 1950, in Alton to Raymond and Rowena (Dahn) Schaaf. His father died on March 13, 1956, from a farm accident. His mother then married Roland Greene on May 27, 1967, and he died Jan. 23, 2004.

He graduated from Jersey Community High School and Belleville Area College Barber School. He started Kenny's Barber Shop in Jerseyville in 1971 and also worked for Jersey Community School District, working at the high school and East Elementary Grade School. He was a member of the Jerseyville Moose Lodge 695 and enjoyed golfing, bowling and aggravating anyone he could. He was a co-owner and instrumental in starting Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his companion, Linda DeShasier of Jerseyville; one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Nancy Schaaf of Godfrey; a sister, Helen DeMoss of Tilton, Ill.; two granddaughters, McKenzie and Madison Schaaf, at home; a niece, Melissa Barnes, and her husband, Kenny; and a great-nephew and great-niece, Cole and MaKenna Barnes, at home. He was awaiting the arrival of his third grandchild.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, with a Moose ritual at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continued from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. at Fieldon Cemetery. Father William Hembrow officiated. Memorials may be made to Mooseheart or to a charity of one's choice. (2) Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf's daughter - Cora (Schaaf) Cunningham died 08-24-1981. Graveside services were conducted Friday afternoon at the Fieldon Cemetery for Cora Cunningham, 70, of White Rock, N. M. who died at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 24 in New Mexico. She was born Aug. 17, 1911 in Fieldon, a daughter of Frank and Tina Young Schaaf.

Her survivors include her husband, William S. Cunningham of White Rock, N. M.; one son, Samuel Cunningham of Trafford, Pa.; two daughters, Catherine McCarthy of East Alton and Bonnie June Hamilton of Amarillo, Tex.; five grandchildren and a great grandchild; two brothers, Lawrence Schaaf of Godfrey and Russell Schaaf of Wood River; three sister, Bertha Schaaf and Emma Isringhausen of Jerseyville and Thelma Murrell of Grafton. The American Cancer Society has been named as a memorial.

(3) Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf's son Mark Schaaf was born in 1907 in Jersey County, IL. He died in 1972 in Jersey County, IL. He is buried at Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.

(4) Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf's son Russell Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. He lived in Wood River, IL. I don't have any other information about Russell Schaaf.

(5) Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf's son Lawrence Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. He lived in Godfrey, IL.

(6) Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf's daughter Thelma Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. She married a man who's last name was Murrell and they lived in Grafton, IL.

(7) Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf's daughter Bertha Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. She lived in Jerseyville, IL.

(8) Frank and Tina (Young) Schaaf's daughter Emma Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. She married a man who's last name was Isringhausen and they lived in Jerseyville, IL.

Louis Schaaf

Louis Schaaf was born 1-2-1852 in Jersey County, IL. He died 7-24-1933 in Jersey County, IL. His father was Henry Schaaf. Louis Schaaf is buried at Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Sarah J. Simpson 6-23-1883 in Jersey County, IL. She was a daughter of George Simpson. She was born 4-2-1869 and died 2-16-1937. Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf had these children-Rachel Bell Schaaf, Leroy "Lee" Schaaf, Leonard Schaaf, Pearl Schaaf, Mary Schaaf, Rosa Schaaf, Alice Schaaf, and Henry Schaaf.

(1) Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf's daughter Rachel Bell (Schaaf) Varney died 01-1969 - The death of Mrs. Rachel Bell Varney of Rural Route 3, Jerseyville, occurred at 6:45 am at Jersey Community hospital where she had been a medical patient for 20 days. Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm Sunday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev. Leonard Todd of Moro officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery. Mrs. Varney, 80 years, 9 months, and 7 days old; was born in Jersey County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Varney who served as supervisor from Otter creek township for a number of years; 1 son, William L. Varney of Chesterfield; 1 daughter, Mrs. George White of Jerseyville; 13 grandchildren; 1 Brother, Leonard Schaaf, and 1 sister, Pearl Keulp, both of Oregon.

Rachel Bell (Schaaf) Varney's husband John William Varney died 10-01-1978 - John William Varney, 84, a retired farmer of Rural Route 3 Jerseyville died at 9:58 am October 1 at Jersey Community hospital. He was born November 8, 1893 in Jersey County, a son of William and Josephine (Hetzel) Varney.

He married Rachel Schaaf March 17, 1916. She died January 24, 1969.

Survivors are: 1 son William L. Varney of East Alton; 1 daughter, Mrs. Ada White of Jerseyville; 13 grandchildren; 2 g-grandchildren; 1 brother Edward Varney, of Jerseyville. Visitation from 4-9 pm Monday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services will be conducted by Rev. Louis Kappler. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

(2) Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf's son Leroy "Lee" Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. He died 8-22-1956 in Jersey County, IL. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. He married Wilma A. Thomas 9-4-1915 in Jersey County, IL. She was a daughter of Marshall and Lena Sarah (Schmidt) Thomas. She died 12-9-1979 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL. They had a daughter Laura Schaaf.

(3) Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf's son Leonard Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. He married Mildred Seal 7-4-1932 in Jersey County, IL. They had a son Leonard J. Schaaf Jr. born 11-27-1932, died 2-10-1933. He is buried at Fieldon Cemetery. Leonard Schaaf and his family lived in Oregon.

(4) Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf's daughter Pearl Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. She married a man who's last name was Keulp, and they lived in Oregon.

(5) Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf's daughter Mary Schaaf was born in Jersey County, IL. She married Louis N. Phipps 6-14-1905 in Jersey County, IL.

(6) Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf's Daughter Rosa Schaaf was born in Jersey County, Il. She married Robert Koestlin 12-25-1903 in Jersey County, IL.

(7) Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf had a daughter Alice Schaaf. I don't have an information about their daughter Alice Schaaf.

(8) Louis and Sarah (Simpson) Schaaf's son Henry Schaaf was born 12-20-1895 in Jersey County, IL. He died 11-21-1924 in Jersey County, IL. (He died of a gunshot wound) He is buried at Fieldon Cemetery.

Julius Schaaf

Julius Schaaf was 3-13-1866 in Jersey County, IL, a son of Henry and Christina (Goeman) Schaaf. He died 10-20-1929 in Jersey County, IL. He is buried at Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Sarah F. Homer 12-30-1890 in Jersey County, IL. She was born in 1866 and died in 1938. Her burial was in Fieldon Cemetery. Julius and Sarah (Homer) Schaaf had a daughter Nora M. Schaaf who died in 1906 at age 18. (She died of poisoning) She was buried in Fieldon Cemetery.

Gustaf Schaaf

Gustaf Schaaf was born in 1861 in Jersey County, IL, a son of Henry and Christina (Goeman) Schaaf. He died 4-21-1936 in Jersey County, IL. Bartlett 3-1-1899 in Jersey County, IL. Gustaf Schaaf had these children-Theda N. Schaaf and Clarence Schaaf.

Henry Schaaf married Sabrina "Sabria" L. Bingham 20 Sept. 1854. They had 2 children-Louisa M. Schaaf and Louis H. Schaaf.

VanAntwerp born in 1908 in CO. and died in May 2003 in Los Angeles, Co., CA. In 1910 this family was living in Denver CO, and in 1920 Frances and son were living with her mother in Hastings. She was listed as a widow.

(maiden name unknown). She was born in 1862, and died 9 Jan. 1928 in Edgar, NE. they had 5 children (2 children died young).

Sabria Bingham, mother of Louisa and Louis married 4 times and had children with each marriage. Married: 1st. 20 Sept. 1854 Henry Schaaf, children-Louisa Schaaf & Louis Schaaf; married 2nd. Joshua Dabbs 21 June 1859, children-Sarah J. Dabbs & Martha Dabbs; married 3rd Ephraim Hughes 31 July 1864, children-Effie Sabria Hughes, and Herbert Leon Hughes; There may have been a third child; and married 4th. William S. Reesor 3 Nov. 1872, children-William Reesor, Mary Reesor, and Beatrice Reesor (died young). All of these children were born in Jersey Co., IL. Some of them did live in Clay Co., NE at one time.

Fritz Schaaf

Fritz Schaaf was born in 1875 in Jersey County, IL. He died in the 1950's in Jersey County, IL. He lived in the Fieldon, IL area. He never married. He is buried at Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.
