Pet Birds Paco(Nandey Conure Parrot) had him about 6 or so years I guess...always thought "she" was a "he" til he/she started laying eggs last year! He talks..not a real big vocabulary though...and thinks he's the boss around here til I remind him he's not! Bad screamer though... :-( 4 Cockatiels... Engelbert, Pretty White Girl, Chipper and Rico... Engelbert was my very first pet bird...then my son went on vacation the next year & asked me to keep theirs while they went on vacation...but never came back to get her! Chipper is a little vocal..tries real hard to whistle "The Andy Griffith Song" and do s pretty good...another cast off from my son after his wife left him.. Rico my sister asked if she could bring to me to take care of..had belonged to a lady she works with and her lifestyle had changed drastically so had no time to take care of her.. She had layed eggs before coming here...also Pretty White Girl layed eggs all summer one year.. I did not give her that name..my son did.. Nicky my LoveBird... he is so loving & sweet...pretty sure he's a he too...cause has a plastic toy bird in his cage that he "humps" non stop! He is a Peachfaced Lovebird...went through wanting to be the boss as most birds do but I finally convinced him I was boss.. They are a lot like little c ildren..have to be taught to behave. I always get them when they are babies unless they are castaways from someone else... Cato, my parakeet is quite a character! Now that little guy can talk!...and bark like my Schnauzers too :-) He is yellow..and I do know for sure he's a he cause I know how to tell with parakeets.. He's also a fiesty little guy that does not like to come o t of his cage! Will keep you entertained for sure though... :-) My very favorite except for maybe Rudy..the Starling I raised two years ago. He's talking! Have to be careful what you say around him or he'll learn it! He is a wonderful pet. Dogs.... Two Mini Schnauzers that are 14 yrs old..Shasta & Charlie Akita named Jonathan They all live in the house & do not bother the birds...are wonderful pets.

What are their names and what kind are they?: Tyler(9 year old Cairn Terrier male), Quinn(7 year old female Cairn Terrier), Kyra(2 year old female Cairn), Pionduce(1 year old Cairn), Annie(14 year old Cairn), Pandora (10 year old tortie cat, female ,Sam(budgie), and the Bettas(male and 2 females) and their buddies.
What type of set-up do you have for your aquarium/terrarium species?: 10 gallon freshwater aquarium. I have decided that if I ever get into a place where I have enough room then I will get the biggest that I can possibly get!

I was just taking a peek at your hp and saw what you said about impulse buying. That reminded me of someone I know who is on her 3rd dog in 6 months. Each dog that she gets is just the best dog in the world, but something always goes wrong with it and s e takes it to the pound. She came home with #3 just before Christmas, a pup who was 5 weeks old at the time. So far it's such a wonderful puppy, the best, but we'll see how long this one lasts, huh?? I wish people would consider ALL of the things about having pets instead of assuming that they will be perfect. *rolling eyes*

What are their names and what kind are they?: Tweeters-female cinnamon & blue budgie(mean as all get out,3 yrs old)Sugars-female white wing violet budgie(sweet as can be, mo old) and my newest and greates addition, BB-male cobalt blue american cinnamon violet(getting to know each other,very sweet) Ive had him 1 month, hand fed and tame but nips every now and then.

Enjoyed your page. Especially the different foods that can be fed to birds. I will try some with my lovebird. I am incorporating pellets with seeds to convert to pellets and offering veggies and fruit. He will eat some of it. Not broccoli but carrots and auliflower. Sugars will eat all of it, Tweeters eats ONLY seeds. Ill check back to you from time to time. I'm impressed with your interest in animals, especially birds... Thanks.
