Helping Your Local Shelter-
The following is a list of ways you can help your local animal shelter.
- Volunteer-you can volunteer in many ways. You can volunteer to clean, feed, walk, play, and spend time with the animals. You can also choose to volunteer to work in the office area, as a secretary.
- Monetary Donations-by providing monetary donations, you may save an animals life. Shelters often euthanize animals, because of lack of space and/or funding. By providing the much needed funding, they can afford to keep the animal either another day or week. Also, if you & others like you, donate enough, they just may be able to expand, thus saving the animals that are in there now & others that are on the streets and/or abandoned at the shelter.
- Cut & Save Coupons-by cutting and saving coupons, you will save the shelter a great deal of money. Save coupons for every brand of dog & cat food, cat litter, toys, treats, etc. etc.
- Choose shelters over pet stores when you are ready to adopt,
- Supply Donations-many shelters are in need of supplies, which include: collars, leashes, food & water bowls, cat litter, cat litterboxes, cat & kitten food, bottled water, dog food, treats, and cat & dog toys.
I hope this list inspires more people to help out local shelters. If you can think of any other way to help out shelters, please e-mail me.
