I was Born in Peru (South America) in the early '70s. My family and I moved to California in the early '80s.

Skipping to my times at Westmoor High School , I really enjoyed performing in the Jazz and Symphonic bands playing the Alto Saxophone. Developing an interest in music was easy since I was raised in a family where playing a musical instrument was encouraged. My parents signed me up for piano lessons at the age of 6 and when I started Elementary in California I took up the trombone for a year. I still play the alto sax regretfully only on special occassions. Music has been and always will be a big part of my life.

During my freshman year in high school, my father encouraged me to take up the martial arts. He enrolled me in Master Reitenbach's School of Taekwondo. I enjoyed the rigorous training but mostly the camraderie that I had with those I trained with. In 1988 I entered and won the Middleweight division of the Northern California State Taekwondo Championship.

There was literally no competition and that's no joke! However, the winning the Championship enabled me to participate in the Taekwondo Junior Olympics!

My close encounter with a celebrity took place when two of the more famous practicioners of Taekwondo, Chuck Norris and Ernie Reyes Jr., were present during the inaugural ceremonies at the Tampa Sun Dome in Florida. The most famous practicioner of the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do is Bruce Lee (not Bruce Leroy!) --> . I always enjoy watching a Bruce Lee movie. My experience at the Junior Olympics was great - even though I did not make it past the preliminary rounds of competition :( It was only my third sparring tournament.

During my freshman year at San Francisco State University, a classmate shared the Gospel with me. In retrospect, the evidence I was presented with demanded a verdict. As C.S. Lewis puts it, either "Jesus is Lord or he is a liar." I believed then as I do now that Jesus is Lord. Having believed, I had no problem confessing to the world that although having been a persecuter of Christianity I had become a disciple (follower) of Christ - a Christian.

My classmate soon encouraged me to become a member of a local church. He introduced me to the church he was attending at the time. I became an active member of that church, a non-denominational Christian church in San Francisco. My faith has increased these last several years and I have learn much as I have served as: Usher, Head Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and Family Camp Director. Under the tutaledge of the Senior Pastor, I have also had the priviledge to preach there on a variety of occasions.

During my sophmore year in college, I married my best friend Lynette (also a Westmoor High alumn). Our story is long and definitely not over by any means. I will dedicate another page/site to it when I have more time. If you cannot wait to know the story then just e-mail me and ask. You never know until you ask.

Growing up in South America, I have always loved Futbol (soccer) since I was born. Which is one of the main reasons why I became involved as coach in American Youth Soccer Organization in 1995. One of my fondest memories was the year that I coached the Daly City (D.C.) Knights and we finished the season with 8 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie. The Knights were the only team to have tied the best team in our division. How 'bout that! Here are the names of all the teams I have coached or been an assistant coach on: Blue Sharks (U6 boys), Blue Whales(U6 boys), D.C. Knights(U8 co-ed), TigerSharks (U8 girls), Blazers (U10 boys) and All Stars (U8 girls).

I moved to Concord a few years ago and recently joined the Board of Directors of Concord AYSO as its new Safety Director. I am excited about the possibilities for AYSO soccer in Concord! Not because I joined but because soccer around the U.S. is increasing in popularity.

A few years ago, I began serving on the Board of Directors for the Alpha Pregnancy Center (APC) of San Francisco. The APC of SF is a really excellent organization making a positive impact in an area very close to my heart. Check out their web page and let me know what you think.

I am currently working in the Internet Division of an educational toy company, LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., in the East Bay. LeapFrog is a pre-ipo start-up doing neat things in the educational toy industry. Check out our recently launched web site. LeapFrog toys should be once again the hit of the gift giving holiday season in 2001!

Until the next update - thanks for stopping by.
