Inuit Legend

Before the Inuit settled this land. The land was

Inhabited by a race of giants. They lived in peace

and contentment. Living as one, with the land and

nature. It came to pass another race, seeing the

bounty and blessings of the giants. Did make war

upon the giants. Seeking to gain the bounty and

wealth without the labor and love of the land. The

giants met in council and decided to go fourth and

meet the enemy. Hoping to protect their loved ones.

When The time came for the men to go. The wife of

the leader made a vow to lie there and await her loves

return. As the men followed their leader away from

the village and loved ones. The lady did lie upon the

ground to await his return. The fate of the men is

unknown. Some say they were all killed in a great

battle. None ever returned to tell the story. The

lady true to her vow lies in wait for her loves return.
