All About Me!!!
Hello! My name is Heather. I am proud to have been owned by three ferrets; Rocky, Oscar and Gizmo. I am proud to be owned by one ferret; Crazy Dave. Rocky and Oscar passed in 2000 and Gizmo passed in 2003. I will miss them terribly. Crazy Dave is 5 years old and still in great shape! I feel ferrets are the best pets to own. I love all animals, but I love ferrets the most.
Career Plans
I currently have a bachelors degree in Biology and am a certified Cytotechnologist (I detect cancer in cells). My dreams of becoming a veterinarian faded when I was trained as a veterinary technician and was miserable...I became too depressed seeing all the sick animals.
Music
I like any music that sounds good, but my main love is Classic Rock. I do have an exception to that though....I LOVE The Dave Matthews Band...they are my favorite band; well, them and The Beatles. Other favorites include: The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Steve Miller, CCR, Blondie, Steely Dan, Tom Petty, AC/DC, Ozzy, Joe Satriani, Peter Gabriel, Fleetwood Mac, old Metallica, and Bob Marley. I love a lot of 80's songs too, I grew up with them so I have to love 'em! I also love "Weird Al" Yankovic, I think he's a parody genius. I got to meet him after one of his concerts in '96. You'll be able to hear my wide range of tastes in these few pages.
Personal Views
I'm currently involved in a few foundations: WWF, the Nature Conservancy, the Sierra Club, ASPCA, the Center for Marine Conservation, and I'm sponsoring a Siberian Tiger named Natasha. I believe that we should try to keep what we can natural. We shouldn't kill off wildlands and wildlife because of selfishness. There are some places that should be left untouched; otherwise we're disturbing the balance of nature and our planet. I wish there was a way we can all live without disturbing anything; but unfortunately there isn't. So, I feel that by doing the best we can to help preserve it is better than nothing. I think that's enough of my environmental concerns for you to deal with...
Travel
I love to travel and camp. I've been to many places in my life: California, Colorado, all over Illinois, New Hampshire, Maine, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan, Canada, and Mexico. My favorite place in the world, so far, is
Yosemite National Park
. I plan to move to Colorado when I get out of college. I want to live in the mountains and own a big truck. I also will have my own zoo set up..I want ferrets, cats, dogs, rodents, bunnies, reptiles, horses, birdies, even a ring-tailed lemur. I will have to charge people admission to come in my home.
