Trees

The trees here are mainly palms. There are several different types, such as coconut palms, date palms, queen palms, and so many more!

Of course Florida is also abundant in fruit trees, we have several fruit trees in our yard. We have orange trees, grapefruit trees (white, pink and ruby red), cherry and banana trees, avocado, pineapple and lemon. You should see the lemons! They get as big as grapefruits - one lemon will make a gallon of fresh lemonaide easily.

The funny thing here, is the evergreen trees. Up north and as far down as georgia, there are pine trees of all types. My favorite was always the frasier fir as a Christmas tree. Down here in Southwest Florida, there are very FEW pines and none of them look like christmas tree shapes. They are tall and very narrow from top to bottom and very sparse in branches. I think maybe the salt in the air has something to do with them not filling in.
