This website is dedicated to our family. You will find a lot of photos and personal information on all of our family. We used to live in Houghton, Michigan. Houghton is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The weather there was generally crappy (Melissa made me type that) Winter lasts from October through April. In the past few years we have only gotten 150 inches of snow (the average up here is 250 to 300 inches) The coloring of the trees in the Fall are beautiful. The Spring is generally wet and alternately cold and hot. Summer is very nice. It doesn't get really hot nor does it get cold. It usually is around 65 to 80 degrees and we don't get very much rain.
Houghton is home to Michigan Technological University. MTU is a Division II school, though our men's hockey team is Division I team.
Jim is a two time graduate of MTU and was working for Portage Health System ( the local hospital) as the Lotus Domino Administrator. He worked for the IT department and took care of their Lotus Domino Development and Hospital Intranet site. However, we decided in the summer of 2000 to seek employment elsewhere and move. We wanted to move to Florida but Jim applied and applied for work in any related field and finally in December of 2000 he recieved a job offer from Tricom Technical Services as a contract employee to Sprint PCS as a Java Developer. So guess what? We are now living in Blue Springs, Missouri which is a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. Jim's contract ended with Sprint in August 2001. He was not offered another 6 month contract by Sprint because of the failing economy. The contract company found him another permanent position with a company called Flax Business Systems in which he works downtown for the City of Kansas City as a Java and Lotus Notes Developer.
Melissa is a graduate of The University of Minnesota and is currently a stay at home mommy after working for McCarthy Nissan for the past 8 months. She absolutely loves Gopher Basketball. Go Gophers!!!!! She would eventually like to go back to school and get another degree someday.
