In Memory Of Our Loved Ones
A Poem By Delores (Brickey) Garvin
The Crimson Rose A TINY SEED LAY ON THE EARTH SO MANY YEARS AGO, A TOUCH OF THE RAIN, A KISS FROM THE SUN, AND IT BEGAN TO GROW. SO STATELY DID ITS STEM COME UP, AND THEN A TINY BUD, BEGAN TO GROW, DAY BY DAY, BLESSED BY THE MASTERS LOVE.
THEN ONE DAY THE PETALS CAME, SPREAD OUT IN A FIREY GLOW, MATURE AND STANDING IN ALL ITS SPLENDOR...THE PERFECT CRIMSON ROSE. THE CRIMSON ROSE SPRINKLED THE GROUND WITH SEEDS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS, AND WATCHED HER SEEDLINGS FLOURISH AND GROW, WITH HELP FROM HER DEWEY TEARS.
THE SEEDLINGS DROPPED THEIR SEEDS ON EARTH, AND AS THE TIME GOES ON, A ROSE GARDEN GROWS IN BEAUTY AND STRENGTH, SPREADING OUT HEALTHY AND STRONG. ONE DAY THE COLOR BEGAN TO FADE AWAY FROM THIS CRIMSON ROSE, HER PETALS FELL, HER STEM TURNED BROWN, SHE HAD GROWN WEARY AND OLD.
AS SHE BEGAN TO FALL ONE DAY, THE BUSHES NEAREST AROUND, STRETCHED FORTH ALL THEIR BRANCHES, HELPING HER GENTLY TO THE GROUND. GOD HAS BLESSED THIS GARDEN, THAT HE PLANTED LONG AGO, BUT MISSING FROM THIS PRECIOUS GROUP, IS THE PERFECT MOTHER ROSE.
THERE'S A GARDEN UP IN HEAVEN, WHERE A FEW RED ROSES GROW, THEY'VE WAITED FOR SO MANY YEARS FOR THIS MAJESTIC ROSE... THEIR WAITING TIME IS OVER NOW, FOR STANDING IN THEIR MIDST, IS A BEAUTIFUL, A PERFECT ROSE, AWAKENED BY THE MASTERS KISS.
THIS GARDEN UP IN HEAVEN, NEEDS NEITHER SUN NOT LAND. FOR ITS LIFE SOURCE IS GIVEN, BY THE TOUCH OF THE MASTERS HAND. THIS ROSE GARDEN LEFT UPON THE EARTH, MISS THIS MOTHER SO, BUT KNOW THEY'LL BLOOM IN HEAVEN, WITH..THE PERFECT CRIMSON ROSE.
This poem was written in honor of Nora Olive (White) Brickey around 1984. Please return to this page later on. I plan to add some photographs of Our Loved Ones. Please scroll down to go to my homepage , and to E-Mail me! |
