THE FAMILY

The four children always claimed that as each child left home for greener
pastures their parents added TWO Boxers. And they were probably right- for by the time they had started off on their own roads, we did indeed have eight Boxers living in the house as house dogs, with two acres of chain-link fenced yard of first growth oak and pine at our "North of Boston" home. Now that they're
established with homes and families of their own- their reckless criticism has come back. Three of the four now have Boxers of their own! Our California daughter (soon to be Salt Lake City) has Daisy, a rescue female; our Virginia daughter has added Cooper, and our Massachusetts daughter now has Kirby, a Raineylane youngster being shown both in confirmation and junior handling. We left home shortly after the last child left- only we packed up, sold out and traveled full time in our motorhome with our four dogs. Somewhere in the trip,
we even whelped a litter in the cockpit area of the RV and kept on rolling!

The journeys took us from Massachusetts to Alaska, and around again to
include Newfoundland and Labrador, and every state and every province in
between! The dogs traveled, and delighted in the new smells, of moose and deer, of buffalo and the usual supply of small animals. They played in the Pacific and the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico and in several of the Great Lakes, not to try to count the numbers of rivers and glacial streams. But now, based in Lower Alabama they have become air-conditioned acclimated and walk early morning and late evening. Our travels took us to meet some wonderful Boxer ( as well as other breed folk!) at shows across Canada, Alaska, The West Virginia summer shows; the New England circuit, the Idaho, Montana summer shows; so many Northeast shows travelling with Middlesex Boxer friends. And now, here in the Southeast, a whole new group of Boxer folk, shows and places.
