About This Site

This page details the history of the whole site in general. Yes, it is admittedly short, but that's beside the point. It is in chronological order, beginning with the earliest entries. Updated every time the page has a major update.

What is this infernal site about anyway?

If you're asking that question, I'd look around and observe that "STAR WARS" is plastered all over every page you can see. So the answer to your question is, "This site is about Star Wars." Or is it? Which leads us to the next inevitable question:

I don't see any sound clips or prequel rumours here.

You noticed! How nice of you to tell me this information. Chewie, take the professor to the back and get him to fix the hyperdrive!

No, really. If I made this a multimedia or prequel-rumour site, nobody would ever visit because the two titans, TheForce.net and JediNet are simply better. For one, they have their own servers, while I spend day after day searching through Yahoo!'s listings under "Free Homepages" for a better solution to my hosting predicament.

So I decided to try something more original, and more personalized. This is a website about my personal opinions on Star Wars. My site is composed of editorials, kind of like a newspaper column without all the other articles surrounding it. You see, there's simply no other site like this one. The editorial pages on the big sites just aren't updated often enough. There's not enough new material. There's no multimedia archive or Boba Fett shrine here. If that's what you want, this isn't the droid you're looking for.

About me, and that "shadow" thing that follows me around

I'm a nice guy. No, really.

I'm usually referred to as "ToasterFish" or "IronParrot" or something along those lines on the Internet. My real name is Nick Tam, and I'm kind of a Pro-Canadian Canadian. Coincidence, really... most of the Brits I've met are Pro-British, and the Yankees are all Pro-American, and all the Olympians I've met are Pro-Am.

As far as I can remember, I don't recall ever owning a droid before. I live in the glorious city of Calgary with my seventeen pet fish, my Yamaha piano, my big-screen notebook computer and a VCR that never plays anything other than the Star Wars Trilogy and Casablanca.

Other than that, there's not much to say. Not much of a life to talk about at all. If you want to know this kind of information in the first place, I'm sure there's a better place to go. Yada yada yada.

Ramblings that are, believe it or not, about this website

This website was put up around Christmas of 1998, and I wrote the first editorial in the Prequels section on January 4, 1999. During that time, I moved around a lot, hopping from server to server and occasionally going down for several days on end. Part of the problem was that I was avoiding GeoCities, which I've had bad experiences with in the past. I guess I learned the hard way that it beats the alternatives.

So, I wrote for about two weeks, and after ventures at XOOM, Crosswinds and Spree, I settled down in GeoCities. Actually, I got the cool address of a site that used to be cool until all the content kind of disappeared (thanks Kyle), so here I am in the prime location Hollywood 4242. All the stuff got moved in on the 17th of January, and as they say, "'ere I am, J.H."

Of course, this was still a tediously long address for people to type in, so I searched for a good hostname forwarding service. Finally got a snappy address -- disintegrate.tsx.org -- and here I am now.

And that's all I have to say 'bout that.
