This is just a little background information to let you know exactly who I am, as well as how and why this web site was created. First of all, my name is Lindsay Edward Stephens and I am from Fort Washington, Maryland. I have been a struggling freelance Desktop Publisher and Graphic Artist for the last two years. I started out as an Engineering major ('88-'89) but soon discovered that the required math curriculum for the remaining 4 years of my program was just too much. So, lacking any real direction, I left school to decide on a new course of action. I soon found that the growing field of computer graphics would let me utilize both my knowledge of computers and my artistic background. I began taking classes in Photoshop, Illustrator, Pagemaker, Quark Xpress, and just about every other graphics application from P.G. Community College, Montgomery College, and The Corcoran School of Art. I eventually became proficient enough to do a little freelance work on the side - mostly newsletters, brochures, programs, handbooks and manuals, etc. This combined with some logo design, photo retouching, and other work has been my major gig for the last couple of years.

That was the past...

The present, and hopefully future for me focuses on one word...INTERNET! I did some research and found out that, if you are good, you can make quite a comfortable living as a web designer. Well, I intend to GET good. This is my very first forray into the world of internet publishing, so please leave me a message telling me what you think. If you like it, say so. If you think it sucks, tell me why and how it could be made better.
