I go to the river
to be purified
cleansed
To feel like a new being again
I haven't been to the river in awhile
I've lost my way
I've gone astray
Two paths in the forest
One leads to the river
The other, the abyss
Which path to take?
Which choice to make?
I need a saviour
guide me to the river.
Man alone
Lost in space
Asteroid crashing against his face
Planet spectrum
Night of cosmic fury
Saturn ring moves through circles
Man alone
Riding a comet
Nebula collision, sends sparks through the galaxy
All this from earth
Is what I see
You have made me your young apprentice
Your servant
You hypnotize me and force me to linger
Making me love, worship and not resist you
You show me the destiny you've sold
You've made me your shining band of gold
I'm wrapped around your finger
I've escaped
Devil and the deep blue sea behind me
Banish in the air, you'll never find me
I will turn your face to alabaster
Then you'll find your servant is your master
If I look in your eyes
What will I see?
A monster?
A god?
Hate?
Love?
If I saw love,
Would you share it with me?
Put your arms tightly around me;
still feeling free
Promise you won't leave me
never go away
Together we are lost
in the beauty of the day.
