Welcome to the Aliens T.C. Support Page!

Web-Counter says that unkown life-forms have visited this page by now!

This page was created in order to give all of you, who are Aliens T.C. crazy as I am, some support and informations. Feel free to contact Torben "CoolCat" Giesselmann if you have any questions concerning Aliens T.C. which are not answered on this page! Please do not bother Justin Fisher, the creator of Aliens T.C. Thatīs what I am for! Of course I would appreciate feedback, comments and pointers to sites related to Aliens T.C. which should not be missing here!

Good news! For those of you who were eagerly seeking for ATC
for DOOM 2 1.9: I have word from Terry Hartung that ATC for
DOOM 2 1.666 will work with 1.9 as well.
Guys, it's worth a try! Thanks, Terry!

The UAC site is down since I left ... anyway the CHGDSG utility
is still available from ftp.cdrom.com.

Removed the link to Paderborn University ... dunno where they moved the files to.

What is Aliens T.C.?

For those of you who donīt now what Iīm talking about: Aliens T.C. is a wonderful add-on for DOOM 1.666, 1.9, Ultimate DOOM (registered versions) or DOOM II 1.666. (So wonderful that it has its own support page!)
T.C. is the abbreviation for "Total Conversion" and that's a real promise! You won't recognize your old DOOM! Aliens T.C. comes with several Wads which replace many, many, many sounds (actual speech from the actual actors in "ALIENS - This Time It's War"), 98% of the textures and sprites. The aliens look like they do in the movies. And believe me: They're hard to kill! (Makes it more realistic! Hehehe!) Aliens T.C. does not modify your original DOOM files in any way, but uses a copy of DOOM.EXE or DOOM2.EXE respectively. So don't you worry: if your Aliens T.C. is messed up, DOOM will still be running fine!

Justin Fisher used techniques implemented in DOOM which id Software didn't even use in standard DOOM! If you see slime from the aliens - better be prepared! They're close! And take care if you encounter eggs: Little aliens willbe hatching and attacking you! Yeah, hatching!
But finally, after having made your way through all the levels, your job is to kill the queen. Good luck! (Youīll need it!) Thereīs much more to discover, but I donīt want to tell you everything! Better find out on your own, donīt you think?

Briefly said:

Aliens T.C. is a sort of game of its own. Itīll be a brand-new DOOM experience for you, even if youīve played normal DOOM for years!

How can I get Aliens T.C.?

Yes, I know. Youīre hot now. You canīt wait to get your copy of Aliens T.C., right? Nothing easier than that! The only thing you need to have is DOOM I 1.666, DOOM I 1.9, Ultimate DOOM 1.9 (registered versions) or DOOM II 1.666. Thatīs all!

If you have an earlier version of DOOM I, just follow these links:Aliens T.C. uses some tools like DeHackEd, an EXE-Editor for DOOM and DeuSF, responsible for the replacement of sprites and flats. If you do not have these tools thereīs no need to worry: they come along with the Aliens T.C. package.

But now it's time to get Aliens T.C.! If you own DOOM 1.666, 1.9 or Ultimate DOOM you will find your luck in the Download Area for DOOM Users, DOOM II owners should better go to the Download Area for DOOM II Users.

OK, install Aliens T.C. now! But donīt play it yet. Wait till evening, draw your curtains and turn off the light! Donīt be disappointed if there are no aliens from the beginning on. Theyīll come, and then youīll wish you wouldnīt have started to play!

CHGDSG 1.1

Now comes CHGDSG's job ... this little program will modify ALIENTC.EXE to make it load its own .DSG (DOOM savegames) files! Why? Well ... some of you probably already encountered this problem: You play Aliens T.C. and save your game. Some time later you start normal DOOM and load a savegame which belonged to ALIENS T.C.! BOOOM ... that was it, crashed ... If you use CHGDSG, Aliens T.C. will load its own savegames and DOOM the standard savegames ... no more confusion, no more crashing!

You can download this useful utility from ftp.cdrom.com ...
