Hi there!

I'm Daniel Wang from Singapore, producer and designer of ACTION WEB, your John Woo and Tsui Hark resource. By arriving at this site, you must have already known how great these two guys are. I've been collecting information about them from the early 90s and I've got a few clear folders, jam-packed with newspaper cuttings, rip-outs from magazines, etc. Somehow, I knew these materials would be useful. And with the advent of the web, I found an avenue to express myself and more importantly, share whatever I have with fellow John Woo and Tsui Hark fans.

Not enough about me? I've received a couple of emails from people wanting to know more so here I go. I work in the media industry as a web producer. I've been doing web-design since June 95. Well, like most other guys, I grew up watching Transformers, The A-Team and Misfits Of Science. Sure miss those 80s classics. Yes, I do own a copy of the Transformers movie on DVD. I like anime too. Favourites include Katsuhiro Otomo's Memories, the Record of Lodoss War series and Gundam (I still believe 0083 is the best in the series and Gundam Wing can burn in hell for all I care).

Ok, back to business. What do I like about the duo? Their creativity and imagination. I'm not saying that other Hong Kong film-makers suck. I enjoy movies by Johnny To, Ringo Lam and Ronny Yu too. It's just that when you know that a movie is directed by John Woo or produced by Tsui Hark, you can expect an above-average standard. What I'm saying is, John Woo and Tsui Hark are a handful of film-makers who can truly entertain without sacrificing style.

I must confess, however, that I'm a late John Woo and Tsui Hark fan. I never saw A Better Tomorrow, The Killer or even A Chinese Ghost Story in the theatres. I'm still kicking my own butt for this. Back in the mid-80s, if you said "Hey, John Woo's A Better Tomorrow rocks!", I would go "John WHO?" I only became a fan after watching those films on TV. It's a real shame. Wished there is a time-machine or somethin'.

Well, that's a little insight on me. Remember, you're never too late to be a John Woo or Tsui Hark fan.
