B.A.'s Gym

Mr. T, formerly Laurence Terro, plays "tough guy" Sergeant Bosco "B.A. (Bad Attitude)" Baracus in Stephen J. Cannel's "The A-Team," which premiered January 23, 1983. "The A-Team" is about a fugitive military group, unjustly charged with crimes of which they were innocent, that helped people all over the world. B.A. and his friends: Lt. Col. John "Hannibal" Smith (George Peppard), Cpt. H.M. "Howlin' Mad" Murdock (Dwight Shultz), and Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck (Dirk Benedict) fight for the people who can't fight on their own against tyranny, harassment, and oppression. They are a unit, a team.

Do you have anything in common with B.A. or do you suffer from B.A. addiction? Or would you like to know some of the inside jokes, related to Mr.T and his Character, B.A., from "The A-Team"?

B.A. is the owner and driver the famed A-Team van, which is mostly black with red detailing. In most of their adventures, the van is used as headquarters, escape vehicle (usually from the miltary), and home (because they were always in it).

Hear B.A. say:

Shut up, Fool!

B.A. is afraid to fly as can be seen to its full extent from this scene in the episode "Judgement Day: Part 2."

{B.A. is driving a truck, and sees the waiting plane just ahead}
B.A.: I knew it. I you guys were gonna try to put me on a plane!
Hannibal: I just wanna stop off and pick up my suit case.
B.A.: I told you -- I don't go on no plane! I'll go by boat or I'll even drive, but no fliyin'!
{Bullets whiz by as the bad guys are in hot pursuit.}
{After fur discussion and debate, B.A. floors the truck and crashes through the DC3 waiting on the runway, effectively destroying their escape plan.}
{After the destruction of the plane, the delima of leaving Italy is proffered to B.A. to explain himself. }
B.A.:(giggle) We ain't flyin'. (Giggle)

In another episode, "Beast in the Belly of a Boeing," Hannibal assures B.A., about their upcoming mission to get hostages of a terrorist taken plane, "Don't worry, B.A., your little red tennies won't leave the ground." Which, of course, with this character's luck, ends up riding part of the way in the luggage compartment at 15,000 feet.

But what this character lacks through his fear of flying, is more than made up for in his confidence and brilliance in mechanical ability. B.A. is a mechanical wizard.

Mr. T trivia:

The gold he usually wore in averaged at about 35 pounds at a time.
